If having a baby is a danger to the life of the mother then yeah why not? but aborting just for fun that is what I'm against.

Most pro-lifers seem to think pro-choicers see abortion as some sort of recreational sport and not the extremely serious and important life decision it is. Yes there will be those that see it as birth control but be honest with yourself: Would you REALLY want them to raise a child with that attitude? Do you honestly expect they'd give the kid up for adoption if they didn't get an abortion? The closest they'd probably get would be selling the kid on the black market or something. Most likely you'd get the stereotypical idiot who thinks a child is an accessory and not a human life and "raises" the kid as such.
And below me...
That's another thing. A lot of Pro-Lifers seem to ignore the choice aspect of the term "Pro-choice." As in, people have the right to CHOOSE WHETHER OR NOT THEY AS INDIVIDUALS SHOULD HAVE AN ABORTION. Not "Everyone should go out and get an abortion as soon as possible because BOY HOWDY IS IT TRENDY!" This is why it's hilarious to read the kids in this thread talking about how they're not going to judge other people for getting one but abortions should be illegal because its killing the soul of the group of cells that aren't even a true baby and rape abortions are fine except for the fact that abortion should be considered murder no matter what but oh well what are you gonna do have fun being forced to endure pain down there from the other way in about nine months and if the process of childbirth will kill you then I still maintain that the baby should be tried for murder I mean think about it it's killing the mother by being born which is almost but not really as bad as how this incredibly long run-on sentence I'm using to make fun of the noobs I'm referring to is killing the voice inside me that screams out for punctuation.

Apparently some pro-abortionists think that killing babies will end a lot of the world's problems.

I'd like to add that the majority of women who get an abortion do end up severely depressed up to and including becoming suicidal- and not over the high price tag either. It's a tough decision- not one people do on a lark.

That doesn't mean everyone should go out and get one, it's an argument to counter the pro-life argument that having abortions is a sin against mankind because we're supposed to "be fruitful and multiply."
That was and is all well and good when there's a high mortality rate due to famine, disease, or predators, but not so much when you live in a society that actively tries to drag its lowest common denominator along with it into the future.

It's not that killing babies solves problems, it's that not ruining peoples (both the Mother and the Babies, usually) lives by making them hold a fetus to term solves problems.

@ Ollie - This is an age old debate - abortions have been in existence since the B.C.s, and it has still not been resolved, and will certainly not be on this forum, and probably not within our lifetimes. Though I disagree with your point of view, I do acknowledge that you have a right to sustain such an opinion, and thus, respect your personal freedom to have such a one. This only serves to seperate an otherwise tightly-knitted group of people, which I do not desire. We could go rounds more upon this subject, exchanging insults and religious slurs and such, but I see no profit in such actions.

I'm against abortion when it is used as a form of birth control, but in cases of rape or some clinical condition. I'm not against it.
I'm glad we have this sorted out, and it seems most of us agree on this.
We don't agree with using is as some sort of "birth control" but I think you are confusing that with agreeing that it should only be used for rape or a health condition. It should also be used by young women who are financially unable to take care of a child, one would hope only after condoms, birth control pills, et cetera has failed. However, I am damn glad that drug addicts, borderline crazies, and other women who are unfit to be parents persue Abotions too.

Well no, I believe if you feel you're not ready to have a child and you think abortion is the best way to go about it then that's your right to make that decision. However, I don't believe it's a casual thing, far from it, but I'm not capable of pregnancy, I'm not raising their child, I don't see why it's my place to tell someone they can't. However, I don't think anyone here thinks it's the equivalent of the Morning After Pill or anything.

Isn't using birth control cheaper and less painful, if they don't want the baby why have it in the first place?
There is always putting up the kid for adoption, I'm also against this (I'd rather have the parents raise their own kid) but is much better than abortion.

Abortions aren't that expensive, actually... a few hundred dollars at most, last time I checked, although I'm probably off. And birth control is far from cheap if you don't have insurance, or it isn't covered by it.
No reason not to use a condom, though.

That's why I don't think adoption is a great option. The foster system is a mess.
It actually isnt murder. A fetus is not a living being and doesnt have a soul. Therefore an abortion is not murder.
If it cannot maintain life outside of a woman's womb, then it should not be defined as living. If you think the idea of giving birth to a new life or a new being into consideration, you can draw from it that its the act of giving birth that creates the life. Its stupid logic but its for the stupid people to understand it.
I dont believe in God therefore I dont think abortion is murder. Im a man of science and like to use reasoning when making informed decisions. This led me to believe that abortion is not murder.
