The present is our only reality

I found this interesting: The future exists only in your imagination, the past only in your memory, the present is your only reality, BUT there is a fraction of a second that passes between experiencing something and registering it in the mind, so the present is always in your past.
Agree? Disagree?

I don't really agree. Time is only a foolish man-made perception to quantify advancement and shouldn't be used to define the connection between things such as past and present. Memories are registered synonymously with the altering from the present state...if that makes any sense.

That's an interesting way to think. You could say it's in the past, but remember that events don't necessarily end at that exact moment, your mind catches up with the situation almost right away and sometime they overlap. In a sense, the concept of time doesn't really exist, it's just a human attempt to define their existence by trying to fit pieces together.

I'll use a quote from a book I've read to explain:

No. Because the present is the present. Sure when i wrote that sentence in the presence and as of now it was in the past. But right now, like this second is the present.

Here's the thing: the human mind cannot comprehend reality like this. It's easy to say we do, but we view "time" as linear, when it very well might not be. We know too little about the universe to define reality. Especially with something as limiting as "language".

The present can last really only a second. . . Once you reach the next second, the previous second is already the past.

The future is your imagination, because every small thing can change the future, so you never know what's really going to happen. . .

I would say that the past is your only way to escape the future and the present is the only way you can escape the past.People look twoards the future as a good thing when all there trying to block out is there past.Theres no such thing,you'll never escape and you'll never seek that freedom that you long for until you die.
