Egg Capsule Drop help

As topic title says. Rules are as follow:

Egg game:
You will be given a zip-lock bag and an uncooked egg. The challenge of the game is to drop your egg within your zip-lock bag 30 feet above ground and your egg must remain un-cracked. You can bring anything (glue, tape, etc.) to achieve this task. However, the game is to be prepared at the campsite and at a designated time. It is permissible to experiment at home.

Edit: We're throwing the eggs up from ground level for it to come crashing back down, not from atop a building. Odd I know, but nothing you can do about that >_>

Either just fit the egg perfectly in a big block of styrofoam or suspend it in the middle of a sphere with rubber bands.

tape some string to the bag just shy of thirty feet. Drop the bag with your arm slightly raised above your head.

I would rather just throw it at someone, if it doesn't crack then you can do it again.

I can't remember if my classmate who stuck buried his egg in a can of Crisco succeeded or not, but it was still a neat idea.

That will break the egg. The impact with the bag will be as hard as the impact with the ground from the same height would have been.

Anyway, I would use a two-tier strategy, first I would slow down the fall with some sort of parachute-like contraption. Secondly, I would add "crumple zones" -- simply wrap it in some spongy material like styrofoam to extend the distance of the collision (this reduces the force).

Depending on how much effort you want to invest, a way that most likely will work (but is very elaborate) is to get a 30 ft tube, fill it up with water (have enough air in the bag so that the egg floats), and then pierce the tube in the bottom (or use some sort of valve), so that the water slowly pours away. You probably want to add some styrofoam at the bottom just to be safe though.

I remember doing this. What I did was get some type of container. I just put something really soft in it, I forgot what though, and I put the egg in the middle. Then I maid a parachute that attached to the container. My egg landed nicely and without any cracking.
