Would you rather kill a kitten or club a baby seal?

If you were given a dilemma; You either had to kill a fluffy and cuddly kitten, or club a cute baby seal. What would you choose?

The point of the thread is that it is a dilemma, you have to choose one. Imagine you're in a cheesy spy-film from the 60's, and you're in a room that slowly fills with sand. In able to disable this deadly trap, you have to kill either the kitten or the seal in order to short circuit the sand mechanism with their blood. Also, you're anemic and can't afford to spill your own blood.

You have a point there. Assuming you want to minimize the pain, it would probably be easier to kill the kitten, since it's so frail. You could kill it before it knew what was going on, and thus not feel any significant pain or fear. Whilst, killing the seal would be a longer and a lot more messy process--it being much larger and relatively stronger.

The point of the exercise is that it is a dilemma, you must choose one option. Let's say that if you choose not to kill one of them, both of them, and a puppy and an infant will be killed by another guy in a slow and gruesome fashion.

And as a matter of course, I'd choose the kitten cos they just grow up and become evil cats. And I can't stand cats! >_<

I do love cats however i would also chose cats for the simple fact that there is a 99&#37; chance that the cat population would survive even if i did kill it LOL

Oh baby seal, definitely. That's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna be forced to kill something as mundane as a cat by choice.

Hmmm...since I'd like to say I'm a nonviolent person...I would choose the one most likely to have a shorter life expectancy from its species, physical condition, etc., or the one that's already in more pain, in order to put it out of its misery. If the aforementioned things are the same for both...and disregarding the belief that killing cats is bad luck...I'd say the kitten, because like Shirayuki and Eris pointed out earlier, it's easier and the poor thing probably won't realize what's happening before it's too late.
