Uncontrollable Spending

Do you have a hard time controlling your tendencies to buy things, especially when you see them on sale?

Why do things look so purchase-worthy even when you do not need them when they are so cheap? Sometimes it is not even the product that you see, but the $ figure on how much you are saving.

I had a close encounter with this problem a few minutes ago and I have succumbed to the temptation with puny resistance. I think it is alright when the things that you are buying are only about $10 or $5 but those that are in the hundreds or at times thousands, well I really wonder if this really is a problem that people should seriously think about sometimes.

hmmm.... for me, a person who is intend to bought some sales stuff was a bit of saving his money for it... sale items are often....

sometimes, when me and my friends are in malls, i've want to buy some stuffs especially my collections of sakura,....but I choose to wait on sales day because the price of the items are cheaper than it was....^___^

Im pretty good with resisting the urge to spontaneously buy. I tend to save up for what I really want.

It depends. I can see things on sale and be like, "If I don't buy this I know I'll regret it" or "That's totally not worth it." Just today I went to the mall with a friend who was applying for his old job at A&F, and we went to Abercrombie (kids) and I saw a hoodie on sale for $18.50. I LOVE hoodies and I will wear them, so I knew it was worth it to buy it. Now, if I saw a pair of designer jeans for like $50 cheaper, I wouldn't consider it because I already have so many pairs of jeans that I don't need anymore.

I'm actually quite cheap! I rarely spend money on things I want. But when I do, I spend on something really worthwhile

Not at all, I rarely purchase anything for myself these days, I am a huge saver.

Not really. When I go to the mall I tend to be really careful with my money and only buy something if I really want it. That's probably because I never get allowance or anything like that so I try to use what little money I get wisely >.>

I have no problems controlling my spending habits. When you have to pay rent, utilities, taxes (damn the IRS), food and gas, you tend to NOT throw your hard earned money away on frivolous things. (Yes, I'm a tight fisted mizer.)

why you gotta bring up my issue? yeah i have a spending problem ...and a gambling problem, just ask hanzo he'll tell yeah " do not give karou money, it will be gone by tommrow" oh well ...atleast im not crazy out there spender like putting down my house as collateral for a loan or something like that. I do know where to draw the line.

I hate Best Buy. I would buy half they're stock if I could...
College just has to be so expensive and it sucks.

Ha! I'm quite a heavy spender. Whenever I would get my next paycheck, I would just spend whatever I have and never save it. I'm not smart when it comes to conserving money, and have those uncontrollable urges all the time, to just walk in the store with like, $300.00 and end up with an underweight wallet in less than 1 hour. My dad's the real business man in the family, that's why we hit it big in St.Croix with his genius ideas. But now, I'm out of a job and broke. So, I can't shop. ;_; Atleast I'm not spending like crazy now.

It's funny to look at the amount of points people posting here have. The ones saying that they spend too much have about... 2.01 points left and the savers have about 40,000. I guess money problems applies to our -overly spendable- points as well o.O

Nope. I can spend money quickly on very rare occasions (like on vacation, or when it's something that I'll never get the chance to buy again), but on a day to day basis, I'm pretty stingy. It's really the way I was raised. People will ask why I save so much money and I can't even answer.

It's just a habit. For instance, this month I've spent maybe...10 bucks on a drink and missions. My wardrobe's pretty modest, I don't buy CDs, books, games or any of that very often. I get what I need, unless an impulse hits me.

I can save about $20 (USD). If I have more, I tend to spend it quickly on candy. Maybe I should set my limit a little higher.

I couldn't before when I lived at home, worked and didn't really have anything important to spend my money on.
Then I bought... like a few cds/dvds or a game or something about every other day.

Now that I've moved out, go to school and don't work, I can't really afford it.

I could control my self with that. Though, buying that particular thing (yes, specially if on sale), will stay on my head messing with me for a while.

Haha. I have quite the opposite problem. I've been a penny-pincher for so, so many years (had to, in order to save up for a trip to Australia on minimum wage). Even before I started working a regular job at 16. It's in my nature.

However, this means that I torture myself and agonize over each and every purchase that isn't necessary. Food? Fine. Bills? No problem. New clothes? Maybe if you hold a gun to my head, lol. Really though it takes me forever to decide to make a purchase for myself, with the end result often being that I don't get it.

But hey, I'm an excellent saver XD

D: Hah, this just happened recently, a couple of weeks ago, F.y.e. in the mall was closing, everything was 90% off [everything was pretty much a dollar or less.], I couldn't help it, I bought 2 posters, 3 shirts and a whole crapload of other things, it ended up cosing 53 dollars, and thats alot for me.

It depends for me, if there is nothing that I am looking forward to, I save up my money. If there is a video game out that I like, then I buy it without even thinking.
