This is the story i hold closest to me, sort of like my candle on the water. Ok... so. There was this old man who lived on the beach, and everyday he would go out, and there would be starfish stranded on the shore. And he would throw them all back into the ocean so that they wouldnt die. Then the next day, there would be more stranded and he would throw them back again. SO one day a man asked him, "why do you do that if they'll always come back the next day. It doesnt matter, you arent making any difference."
The old man smiled and told him, "It mattered to that one little starfish that's now back where it belongs."
That story is about the simplest story there is to inspire. I think we should all take heart in it. Even if we cant stop all the death and such in this world, if we can save just one person, then maybe it will be worth it. So i dont think we should give up. Its heartening to know you can make something of a difference.
But what do you think, oh critisizers and pessimists?
