Give me Some Anime Suggestions

Hi all people here. I'm Neko and I recently joined the forums. Konnichiwa. *cough* ANYWAY, I have recently been wanting to have a variety of anime to watch. I watch alot of Azumanga Daioh on Youtube, for reference.
I used to watch Pokemon, but after they totally screwed Ash's voice.. ya know what I'm gonna say if you watch it. ANYWAY, I like anime with:

+ Good animation
+ Not alot of violence
+ Appropriate anime (about ages 12 up.. my mom DOES moniter me, and she moniters me good...even though I'm 13 x.x)
+ Good plot
+Good characters

I like anime that you can easily find on a TV channel (like Cartoon Network or something). I'm not a Naruto fan . Shocking. Anyway, when you post, put the anime, some positive comments about the anime, and the channel it comes on. If it doesn't come on a specific channel, just don't list it.

hmm look out for any productions by studio Ghibli - Howles Moving Castle, Spirited Away, The Cat Returns - I am not sure when or where you would find these on TV, but they are cheap to get on DVD. (if blood is a problem, you might want to wait a little longer before trying Princess Mononoke, its has combat and does not try to make illusions about blood - but is a very good anime)

I can read! - violence and blood do appear in wolf's rain and most of the series carries a 15 age rating! That said it is a good anime - one to wait and watch later!

The Slayers Might Be Good If You're new To Anime. I've recently gotten into it myself, and I can see nothing objectionable aside from a few jokes and slapstick violence(Lina Inverse's bust size)

And if you watch Azumanga Daioh a breast joke or two shouldn't be a big problem for you.

Jigoku Shoujo does have many adult themes though...especially the second season. there isn't a lot of blood or anything but it is very adult in content.
Not tryin ta bash ya or anything. I don't think I would let my kids watch it if they were 13

I personally enjoyed Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, Utawarerumono, and Solty Rei as my top three. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles has to do with a young man by the name of Syaoran and he finds himself having to travel through dimensions in search to help find Sakura's lost memories; they battle new opponents, investigate areas, and befriend people from all different dimensions. (Can't really say much more, because I don't wish to spoil it).

Utawarerumono is about a guy named Hakuoro who one day experienced a big change. He fell upon a new world and had to adjust to new settings. He is accompanied by others in seek to find his existence in life. - also has to do with intriguing battles, befriending others, and searching the lands to rid the evil that lurks there.

Solty Rei has to do with a strange occurence that fell over the town, and Roy Reverant encounters a loss in his family. He continues his search to find his lost family members and in doing so falls upon a strange individual that becomes a lot like a family member. He meets new friends, battles with different opponents, and seeks out evil members from a lower class of people that live underneath the city. He is a bounty hunter, and he takes on tasks for the leader of an organization.

I have enjoyed all three anime series, and I totally recommend checking them out if you like the types of series that go adventuring, encountering new people, beasts, and oddities in search to find what they came for.

Hmm... if you're into comedy without much of a steady plot, try Galaxy Angels, it's mostly mini-shows.

If you like love-and-goodness conquers all, Angelic Layer is wonderful.

Ahh.... um... -is thinking.-

I would suggest Princess Ai, but there are a couple of problems with that. Skimpy clothing is one. There is minor violence, but not a lot of blood. (Not in the manga at least)

Digimon? o_O It's a great starter anime, and Season 1 & 2 were great. -grins- Well, atleast I thought so. lol. Some of the older people here might think I am off my rocker. -shrugs- But hey.

There is a limited selection you could go for since your mom is hovering.
