Painting
Red and yellow,
Blue and green,
In my room of loneliness,
I feel like a queen.

I began to paint a picture,
Of a silent, eerie lake,
With all the deep colors,
And when I got done…
It looked like a snake.

The snake twisted and turned,
And swirled around,
And had it’s head down,
As if it was digging into the ground.

The picture was wonderful,
And I put it on display,
And then, with caution,
Threw my paintbrush away…
And I never saw it again.
