Okay..so how I am going to the anime con like SOON now..You see I am going w/ my mom, my friend and her mom. Please don't like bad rep me for this but I unno what to do...

My mom decided she wants to go as a " Mew Mew " from Tokyo Mew Mew -.- So our moms are gonna be " Mew Mews " and she is having my friends make her a costume of Lettuce's outfit. And might I remind you..my mom is 49

As I said, please don't bad rep me >.< I just dunno what to do...I know you people are probably saying " She should just deal w/ it " I know..it is just it is very embarassing...and yeah...

Yeah...I do. ;-; The reason my friends mom is coming is b/c she is afraid that my mom would let us walk around on our own alittle. She is sorta a freak a bout stuff like that...Yeah, I guess it is somewhat cool. =/ But it gets kinda annoying after awhile <.< >.>; She starts asking you questions ( ALOT of questions ), and pronounces things wrong, ( I am a grammar freka x3 ) and yeah xD But it is also annoying b/c my dad...HATES anime....-.-;

@Unspun: That is the thing, I can't just hang out w/ Alyssa b/c we have to stick w/ them the whole time, and her mom is making her like stick right next to her...she warned me that that is how she is..

I am trying to not let it get to me..I am gonna try talking to her again..

You should be happy that you have a parent that wants to get THAT involved with anime. Not many of us can say this. Maybe you can steer her into a similar series that might suit her.

Theres also that chance that there might be other people in the same situation there too. Just clear your mind of any worries and have a good time. IT ANIME FOR CRYING OUT LOUD Lmao

I agree, it can really be fun. Hanging out with parents is not that embarassing you know. When I was 12 I went to my first anime con with my grandfather and although he didn't have any costume, he had a good time . And he bought me various things. And also if I happened to go alone, I'd often see kids, especially girls, with their fathers. It was nothing strange or silly. Try to find some good points in your situation. To tell you the truth I was pretty amazed to read that you mum wants to take a part in a cosplay but it's rather a positive amazement. Your mum is cool ;P

If I were you, Id just be glad I could go to AnimeCon in the first place o.o But that doesnt help with your problem much, does it? I just recommend you either find a more... suitable costume for her or just try to grin and bear it. Parents will be embarassing no matter what, not much you can do about that ^.^;

We're talking about Tokyo Mew Mew here. A lot of loli leg shown in that series. Do you really think your mom didnt already think of how revealing she might be. She probably doesnt want to go out showing more skin then you do. Give her the benefit of the doubt and trust her. Your friend is probably keeping certain things in mind too while making the costume. Ask yourself, "is he/she that good at making costumes?" If so, then they'll make her look pretty decent. Hey, their talent might even get noticed at the con and you can smile knowing your mom was what caught everyones attention.

But yeah, I understand your feelings. I wouldn't want to go to a con with my mum if she was dressed up like that (or with her at all, for that matter, as my mum hates anime with a passion of a thousand fiery suns). I guess what I'd do in that situation is just be glad that I had at least one parent that actually shared an interest of mine. I mean, jeeze, I told my father I was dressing up for Halloween and he threw a hissy fit. He eventually got over it, and thankfully I dodged mum that day so she didn't see me at all, or else another hissy fit would've been thrown.

I think you should just let her have fun and enjoy herself. She has as much of a right to have fun as you do. And in a couple of years, you won't ever have to go through this again. I suppose this kind of situation can turn into the type of horror story you can tell your kids when they complain about something you do, i.e., "You think I'm bad? When I was your age, my mum dressed up as Lettuce from Tokyo MewMew and dragged me with her to a con! What'dya think of THAT??"

Haha my mom is so awsome she gave my friend the choice to be Lettuce! Hoorah! But she is still going to be a cat -.-; But that is better then walking around in a Lettuce costume, no? She is angry b/c she LOVED the costume. But I am happy that my awsomley-awsome friend is cosplaying as well ^.^ I gave her the choice to borrow my Japanese robe and fan or the Lettuce costume my mom gave up for her xD She chose Lettuce, hoorah! x3
