Digimon or Pokemon?
I want to answer one of the many age-old questions: Which is better: Pokemon or Digimon? I want to see what you guys think.
(by the way, the last time I posted this it was kinda bad, so I want to try again with this one.)

Digimon and Pokemon are a hard choice for me, i like both of them, but i guess pokemon would be the choice.

Pokemon, of course. It was more popular then, it's still more popular. Digimon is nothing compared to it.

Me, for anime, I would absolutely choose Pokemon. But since it's about game that we're talking about, I'd choose Digimon, especially that one in PS. I've played Pokemon before in GBA but I don't really dig it.
I would have to go with Pokemon. I've played way more pokemon games than digimon. But I do think digimon is still just as good.

As far as games go, Pokemon Silver will always be my fave. Digimon games weren't too good.

i like Pokemon games they're good and all, but DIGIMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is way better i am like a die hard Digimon fan when it comes to seasns 1 to 3... 4 and 5 are okay... put not my peice of cake
whoever said DIGIMON reppies for you <333!!! Digimmon is way better than Pokemon i like the DS games that just came out for it too, Dawn (have that one) and Dusk... better than Pokemon's Diamond (have that one) and Pearl games...

However, I'm more interested in the latest news out there.
Digimon Rumble Arena is now announced a POSSIBLE opening for the 3rd installment to the series. Digimon is going to be bigger, better, and PS3/XBox360 more powerful. However, This would be a good topic for another poll.
Anyways. For people to like Digimon over Pokemon, it's usually the Geeks, Freaks, and Nerds. I'll admit, I'm one of them. Reasons being, It's not straight forward, it doesn't repeat itself every episode, and it's constantly "Digi-Volving" into better and brighter things. Pokemon really hasn't changed since it started. (Maybe a longer chart of COOKIE-CUTTER SHAPED pokemon, but that's about it) PLus for those of you who like/Liked JESSIE or JAMES and MEOWTH I'd like to direct you to an ANIME they're BASED on:

Furthermore, Pokemon's ideas were all taken from other anime, and if you follow JAPANESE lines, the core of Pokemon was taken from Digimon. (Digimon was unique because it didn't take anything from anyone. Rather it based it's entirity on a single popular boom that took the world by storm: Many people can remember the Tamagachi/Giga-Pet/VP? That's right, that Egg-Shaped pocket-sized object that held a "Digital Monster" was actually the BIRTH of Digimon. I know because I asked personally one of the original castmembers of the Digimon Series. His note was that 'the reason Pokemon made it to the United States first, was because Digimon was not originally directed towards an American Audience. They didn't even know that the series was going to recieve the audience it did. That's the reason they gave "Digimon" as it's so titled in America, the Generic 'it's going to fail anyway' title: Digital Monsters! That was composed of only 13 episodes. When the franchise discovered how quickly the series succeeded it decided to remake the 13th episode to extend the series another 13. (It should make sense how "Digimon Adventure 01" is split up into 13 original +13 Etemon +13 Myotismon +13 Dark Masters +1 Extended episode (Apoclymon) which was split into 2 in the U.S. (=54 episodes)
(Season 2 did the same thing with the (13,13,13,10)
Season 3 (13,13,13,11)
Season 4 broke that tradition.
Long story short, I'm a DIGIMON fan and proud of it!

Haven't played recent games,but from what I've played,pokemon is better...
The games are very well done,and are easy to get into it...
However,playing some digimon games bored me very much,so yeah...

The Pokemon games are insanely addictive and simple to get into, so they get my vote by a long shot.

Let me break it down real quick
GAMES:
Pokemon Red and Blue were released in Japan in 1996, US in 1998
Digimon World was released in Japan in 1999, US in 2000
TV Series:
Pokemon started in the US in 1998 (I couldn't find the Japanese date, but I think this should be enough)
Digimon started as a movie in Japan in 1999
Also to note, Digimon all came from the Tamagotchi virtual pet toys (in 1997, still a year after the Pokemon games were popular in Japan)
All that being said, being first doesn't necessarily make it better. Regardless though, I prefer the Pokemon games overall, and never really could stand the shows of either.
