To celebrate the fiftieth issue of Anime Insider, the AI staff compiled a list of the top 50 anime ever. Though the list is compiled by AI, the contents of the list were selected by specialists of the industry, such as Crispin Freeman, Rob Bricken (former editor of Anime Insider), and Junichi Fujisaka (director of Blood +, which is not on this list). "We asked for the lists of the best anime- not the most influencial, not the most popular, but the best. The ones that made a lasting impact. The ones that told a solid story in an entertaining, well-rounded way. The literature of anime, if you will."

This is seriously the most bullcrap list I have ever seen! I know we should not take this seriously, but too much that is not listed in favor of these of most of these animes that should not even be listed just stands out way too much to me and does bother me for a source that's supposed to an "authority" on anime.
The original Gundam and Macross are not on this list!!?? This is an outrage!!! At least have more than one Gundam series. 0080 is good, but should not be favored for others on a list like this. And where in God's name is Hokuto no Ken!!!?? Jojo's Bizarre Adventure!!?? Aura Battler Dunbine!!?? Yuu Yuu Hakushou!!!?? Slam Dunk!!?? Ashita no Joe!!?? Saint Seiya!!?? I know I'll get flamed for this but Dragon Ball Z needed a place as well!!! Not only they should be on all lists, but top 5 or top 10 alone! Not listing those animes on a list that should be considered influential and lasting is just criminal!!
If any anime fits the so called criteria of "The ones that made a lasting impact. The ones that told a solid story in an entertaining, well-rounded way. The literature of anime, if you will," it was those animes!! I mean, where is Flying House? Where is Rose of Versaille? Gankotsuou?
How is CCS favored over RG Veda or MKR!? CLAMP is known more that!!
Have these people seen more than 50 anime!?
