Plays, musicals?

I'm not the only person that likes them right? They are so much fun to watch. I really love plays and musicals based in Europe and during the 1800's and 1900's. And for the love of God and everything that is holy, don't say High School Musical!

High School Musical had a sucky premesis, therefore I think the movie sucks beyond all belief. I'm not going to watch it. I'm a fan of the Theatre/Opera. I've seen CATS, A Moon Over Buffalo, and The Nut Cracker. I've had a role in The Little Engine That Could when I was in Kindergarden as the Little Engine That Could. I'd LOVE to see Fiddler On The Roof and The Phantom Of The Opera.

I see them pretty frequently, so I guess its safe to say I enjoy them quite a bit. Theres a lot I haven't seen that I would like to see though, one being Jesus Christ Superstar.

I also never got how 'High school musical' developed such a huge fallowing. Wasn't it just one of those Disney original tv movies? I don't get it.

Closest thing to a musical I've ever enjoyed was Pick of Destiny.

I agree. Inever understood why people liked High School Musical. There was so much hype surrounding it so I decided to watch it. But halfway through it I didn't see what was special about it and when it was over I thought "People are stupid."

Anyway, I like musicals and plays, especially older ones, such as The Sound of Music, The Wizard of OZ, and On the Town. I like Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, and Fred Astaire. And I consider old Disney movies as musicals because they really are. Aladdin is my favorite of them and I think it's much better than The Lion King.

Les Miserables (Colm Wilkinson!) tops my list. Love it. I've also seen Ragtime and Wicked, and listened to the Phantom of the Opera music heaps of times. Er...I have a soft spot for Little Shop of Horrors, having seen it in various ways a good half dozen times (best performance being my own high school, in fact).

High School Musical bores me to tears. My preference is to those with a little meat to their story (Ahem, Les Mis).
