Why are nerds so sexy?

The shy/nerdy type are always the best, so why is it they never get the guy? I find this offensive.

Anyone else a fan of the "shy" ones? Any other examples?

You're saying shy, not nerdy. I know nerds who are not shy at all. And vice versa. But, to the point:

It's called a "Suspiciously Attractive Nerd," by which writers and animators attempt to throw more emotion on a nerd by making them more attractive than the average nerd is. And it's always sad that the guy or girl never goes for the Suspiciously Attractive Nerd, even though the nerd is not only a better person, but even more attractive than the person the guy/gal is with now.

i dont think hinata is spineless but it does get annoying that she is so shy but she seems to me,at least,to be a strong person...so strong of a person that she works her butt off to become a better ninja and try and prove to herself and everyone else that she's good enough to be the hyuuga heiress...at least thats what i think...

actually shy/nerdy girl stereotypes really irritate me because they always have a spine like a limp noodle. Hinata IS cute....but.....well she is the only character out of the ones you listed that I like even a little bit. >_>; As far as sexiness goes, Ami's got to be like the least attractive of the sailor senshi, imho.

If you are talking anime Honya-chan (nodoka) then yes. However Manga Honya-chan has SO much more going for her.
