Oyakodon
The name of this popular domburi dish comes from its two main ingredients, chicken and egg. Very rarely, a domburi with salmon and ikura (salmon eggs)

Rice Cakes (mochi)
Mochi (or omochi) are small rice cakes, produced by pounding mochi rice. They are traditionally eaten on New Year, but have now become available throughout the year. Mochi rice cakes are usually grilled and then served in a soup or wrapped in nori seaweed.

I have tasted some Japanese food. I like what I have had so far. I love sushi, mochi, and squid. I cannot get enough of squid. I really want to try more Japanese food. I have only tasted food that has been prepared here in America, and I know that when cousine is brought over here the flavorings changes to fit American tastes.

Yes, I've tasted Japanese food before and I absolutely love it. I've mostly eaten sushi. (How typical) and mainly Cali Rolls...mmm ^_^

Squid is rubbery like and feels like your chewing on a rubber band,
Sushi is raw fish of course and is so tasty!

There are many kinds of Sushi, some are good while others I don't care for.

Has anyone tried Taiyaki? I want to try that but I don't think thats possible in the US.

I took Japanese in high school, and we went to a Japanese shopping center near New York. One of the popular foods was...some type of sticky fermented beans? Apparently the Japanese love watching Americans try their best to keep it down.

I haven't been to Japan, yet, but I've tried a lot of their food. I'm from the US. I love red bean paste buns, Sukiyaki (like Japanese stew), some sushi (Kappa- with cucumbers, and Tekka- with tuna), Ramen, Udon (Thicker noodle type thing), Pocky, Terriyaki, Chicken Yakisoba, rice crackers, and more.

I just had a deluxe sushi yesterday, (my dad finally came for a visit for Christmas but now he's gotta go today... T----T) it was scrumdiddlyumptious! XD with nice miso soup annn sushi and mini rolls and cooked fish with crust covering, it was was certainly yummy ^--^

I havent been to Japan, but that doesnt mean I havent eaten Japanese food. Theres dozens of Japanese resturants if you just look hard enough for them.

As for me, I love crab fillen wontons, miso soup, that sushi with the crab meat in it, those filled rice thingies...onigiri? Something like that...

And I love terriyaki ANYTHING. Though beef is usually my fav


OH! And TEMPURA! Tempura chicken is awesomeeeee [drools]
Tempura ice cream isnt too bad either >_>

And giyoza [fried dumplings] are really good too.

I'm with Maru with the Wantons (drool) and Terriyaki! And tempura, though Tempura shrimp is my fav. If we ever meet we need to go to a buffet and pig out. >.>

I only like Sushi in small amounts, but when I'm craving it, it's good.

I have had Japanese food. I'm Asian, so naturally I am accustomed to many kinds of bizzare foods. I have only had sushi, squid, octopus(not raw of course!), and Ramen. I like Japanese food and all, but having way too many asian foods every night is annoying! I've had fried tofu udon and it was the best out of all of them. Rice this and rice this, can't asians eat anything else?! But overall, Japanese food is the good stuff, and I hope to become a martial arts actor(or any other kind of actor) to make movies internationally, even Japan! Then I can visit Japan!
