Regrets of Depression

I'm not here to spread depression and all, but my question is, have you regretted being depressed over something?

I have. I regretted being depressed when I had a big brawl with my now-ex-best-friend which I had lost contact with. I regret being depressed when my mom got sick, for not being able to do nothing.

i have regretted being depressed about one of my best friends when she was sick and i had no idea where she was or what happened to her. now i realized it was just stress getting to her. i even cried all day coz i had no idea where she was.

well, I also have regreted depression.mainly it's because i get into fights with my best friends (ari_86,nami, taz, even kieko(but she is my cousin) and sometimes it's stress and T.O.M, and school....way to much drama at school.and it sometimes comes from when im playing sports.

These things happen, you cant be happy forever. No ones life is perfect and everyones life has hardships. Some worse than others. But being depressed can open your eyes to things that you cant or wont notice before. Yeah it sounds weird but it is true. But once you are depressed you should relize why and fix the problem. And if you become happy again by getting over it but you dont relizing your mistake than you might as well have stayed depressed until your relize it. Otherwise it would be a waste of time.

I think there is a very large difference between being depressed and really sad.

Psychologists classify depression as a disorder, so I don't think you should run around going "I'm depressed" because your boyfriend dumped you, that's just being really sad.

Depression, or a depressed mood, may in everyday English refer to a state of melancholia, unhappiness or sadness, or to a relatively minor downturn in mood that may last only a few hours or days. This is generally seen as quite distinct from the diagnosis of clinical depression.

Have I been depressed like 98 percent of the world at some point in time? Yes. Have I regretted it? Perhaps regretted to the extent I took it too, but I don't understand why you would really regret something that. And also, regret is dwelling on feelings of shame and so..it's really not a good thing to do.

Maybe. HA. No seriously, I got depressed for a few months last year (I mean that I was really sad, not clinically depressed). I didn't like that time, and yeah I kind of wish it hadn't happened. But the whole series of events is very linear and I really didn't have anything to do with what happened. So do I regret it, now, yes. Would I do the same thing again? Probably...

I get depressed every once in a while. Depressed is just a euphamism for 'sad'. Being 'depressed' is the cool and composed way of being sad.


Everyone has been depressed if they've lived long enough to be mistreated. Most people get over it. Everyone else takes the pills for the fake lulz.

I've been depressed in the colloquial sense of the word, and at least bordered on the clinical sense of the word.

And no, I haven't regretted it. It's really not a conscious act as such, and not something I could have avoided, so regretting it would be like regretting receiving a letter.

Regretting that you've been depressed could probably lead you to be more depressed right? Because regretting always gets your mood down and all. So why would you regret being depressed. I don't see any logical reason to regret being sad/depressed.

Basically, I'm saying why be sad when you can be happy?

I've never really been sad enough to be called depressed. I've been extremely sad before, yes, but never depressed.

Sometimes I wish I wasn't so sad during a time in my life because it really wasn't worth being sad about, but most of the time, I don't really pay attention to it and never feel bad or sorry that I was sad. It's a human thing to be sad, isn't it? Besides, I follow a saying of mine, "awknowledge. accept. advance. accelorate."

Yup but I dont care about it. If you regret you get depressed... so I dont try to regret. If I do something that I Know i shouldn't have, i dont regret just simply laugh over the matter. (by just saying dang that was mest up. or Snap or yup thats going to leave a mark.) Its not like you can go back in time to relive it? unless you know how but not alot of people do. And besides my life is to busy to be depressed there are to many important things to do in my life and I am not about set in a corner repeating to myself OMG I cant help but be depressed. Its lame well maybe not lame but depressing lol jk.

I got depressed when my grandfather died. Or when i lost something so important. And also when i felt like im so alone.
But i didn't regret any huge deal, as far as i know.

If you feell the symptoms of depression, go to your doctor and have them tell you whether you have depression or not. Don't just go around saying you have depression if it's not really diagnosed. I mean you can say you're depressed here and there. But avoid using it in a long-term statement if you haven't been diagnosed.

Depression is a mental-illness and can be aided with the help of counselling and medication.

And if you hate your life, it means you hate EVERYTHING in you life.You can't just say I hate your life but you love your girlfriend or boyfriend. Because they're a part of your life and if you hate your life, that means you hate them too. And if you feel like committing suicide ._. Then I suggest either you go get help or you do it. Attempting suicide is pointless. You know what can kill a person. So if you're really suicidal, go get help. If you don't, I'm gonna say that you're an attention-craving nutjob. I mean if one person can start to see the brighter side of life, then so can you. Don't say it doesn't help when you attend therapy. If it doesn't help, it probably means you need a new therapist, dummy.

And if you do try to kill yourself and say you failed, that's just a lame excuse for not being committed enough to actually do it. And it just lets you go around saying "Oh...I attempted suicide again, but it didn't work."

ok, i think i need to clarfiy things. Depression means prolonged period of sadness. N no, sometimes people can get sad but that does not mean they are definitely depressed. Hating life is just ignorance on a person's part, cos there must be something that can make a person's life brighter! N on regretting, I do not mean regretting over ALL the times we've been depressed. Sometimes, we feel depressed n felt nothing about it afterwards, but sometimes, there r times when we will think n feel, "Why should I be depressed now?"

Nah, don't regret it. It's what you need(ed) to go thru to become who you are today (or will be). Just learn from the experience so that you can benefit from it in some (small) way. Just count it as another learning experience. I did, and i'm glad of where i am today.
