Some tips huh, ok well before you start posting take some time to just roam around and become familiar with the different sections. If you head over to the FAQ section you can read the rules and all that. Your User CP is where your controls and preferences are, you can customise your signature and avatar there and set your display options for the forum, so you definately want to check that out.

If you have any questions or anything feel free to send a Private Message to the closest online user (you can do so by clicking on the name and selecting the send a personal message option).
