Peanut butter and Jelly: Serious Business

There are many things in this world I don't understand, one of them happen to be how some people disgrace the art of peanut butter and jelly sandwich making.

You see, you have two pieces of bread, and 2 spreads: The peanut butter (skippy, superchunk imo) and the jelly (smuckers strawberry jam imo). So naturally you would spread the jelly on one piece of bread, and the peanut butter on the other and them smash them togather.

There are some people out there, that actually put one on top of the other on one peice of bread, usually the peanut butter first, then the jelly on top. No. no no no. These freaks are soiling the sandwich, thats just not how it works. Forget the fact that it looks and tastes the same no matter which way you make it, its just plain wrong.

SO which way do you make your PB&J? Do you lay one spread on top of the other, or put each one on each piece of bread?

I'm not into sandwiches with like... stuff on them. Mainly because stuff is expensive and I'm a poor student. I'm happy if my bread has butter on it.

This is an interesting method, not one that I would choose for myself though. It sounds like a more hardy PB&J, maybe even a little gunky. I prefer my spreads very thin.

If your jelly is soaking so far into the bread that you can feel the difference, you might consider making your sandwiches out of bread instead of napkins.

I never have had my smooth peanut butter stick to the roof of my mouth. The chunky peanut butter gave me that problem far more. Furthermore, chunks of peanuts in the peanut butter makes it harder to spread.

The correct way to make a PB&J is to use twice as much jelly as you do peanut butter. If you don't see the jelly coming out the sides of your sandwich, you obviously haven't used enough.

Screw that, you have to have MORE peanut butter (and screw the crunchy stuff too) than you do jelly, otherwise the jelly taste overpowers the peanut butter for sure. I don't know about you, but I like the taste of peanut butter with my jelly .

lots of peanut butter on one half, lots of seedless raspberry jelly on the other half, using texas toast for maximum gooiness (the more bread, the more filling) sometimes toasted, never grilled (I heard of someone doing this, EW.) and sometimes, peanut butter and honey tastes better than jelly.
Ooh yeah, now I'm hungry.

I have eaten it so much, that I have come to dislike it.
But I like to put peanut butter on both pieces of bread
and then just throw jelly on top of a slice and well, then
put the other one on it.
I found out that the more peanut butter on it, the fuller it gets you.

I honestly don't like eating sandwitches unless there's chicken on it.. I use to love PB and J, but I goate it so much I started hating it.

I have PBJ ALL the time, especially at school.

When I make it myself, I put jelly on one side and peanut butter on the other, then put it together. I don't put both on one side because it feels "unclean" to me. I know that sounds weird, but it just does... Anywayz, it really doesn't make any difference in the way PBJ tastes, it's just your own preferences I guess. O_O

The jelly goes on a toasted slice of bread, the peanut butter (has to be smoothe) goes on an untoasted slice of bread. Then you slightly grill the peanut butter slice in the oven, you put the two together, cut into triangles and presto! A peanut butter and jelly sandwhich.

I don't like peanut butter, unless it's sweet, like once i tasted. I don't like peanuts, because they get stuck in my teeth, i hate that! But sometimes, if I have no choice, I eat PB&J.

I mix the two spreads together into a tasty paste on one slice o' bread, and then slap the other slice on top ^^

Actually they really are fairly good for you if you get reduced fat peanut butter (and near as I can tell there isn't much difference in taste) because peanut butter is extremely high in protein... great if your trying to build up your muscles.

Personally I put the peanut butter on one slice of bread then the jelly on the other slice of bread usually in fairly even amounts then combine and eat... oh and I always use wheat bread for any type of sandwiches because I find it tastes better.

But it's not only fat, but also sugar that's the culprit in obesity.

To be honest I don't really like it. But if I did want to make the sandwich I would put the peanut butter and the jelly on separate slices.

I put the peanut butter on one slice and the grape jelly on the other. I like alot of jelly on my sandwich, and not so much the peanut butter. So it's not so much PB&J, it's like Jelly feat. Peanut Butter. Like a song duet. O_o
