The Poke'mon Trainer isn't all to gimmicky when you think about it.
Poke'mon is one of nintendo's most popular franchises, and in MOST of those games you're a trainer, as opposed to an actual poke'mon.
So I can see how that makes sense.

Kojima practically BEGGED for Snake, and people were crying when Sonic wasn't in Melee.

Wow...I wouldn't put it past Nintendo but I think Microsoft and Bungie are "butt buddies" so they're not going to sell their rights so easily. There are rumors that there is suppose to be one more "off-brand" character in Brawl. I suppose maybe

Bomberman could be a valid choice? Or maybe a Namco character...Pac-Man haha?

Anyways, I saw the 5 minute preview for Brawl in case any of you want to view it as well here it is:

My eyes widened as I saw a clip of a...OUENDAN TROPHY!

If none of you are familar with that series, it is the predecessor to Elite Beat Agents. You play a trio of Japanese Cheerleaders that save the world through rhythm, motivation, and synchronized choreography. That would be extremely awesome if they ended up being characters in Brawl. If Lucas made the cut so can Ouendan! More or less they might end up as an assist trophy BUT that little snippet gave me some hope.

Okay Nintendo I will forgive the release date postponement if Ouendan is a playable character in Smash Brothers (although Nintendo could care less if I forgave them or not haha).

Final Smash for Ouendan = Everyone they helped in part 1/2 powering up for a giant Beam attack ^^. Their stage can be the world map screen OR a level resembling the last levels of both series where you try to stop the end of the world by some space disaster (metoer/rock covering the sun).

PLEASE NINTENDO MAKE OUENDAN A PLAYABLE CHARACTER!

i heard it was pushed back again i thinks its due to the fact they want the online play to be perfect so hopefully after the 2 year delay we will get a dam good game i heard that characters such as sonic costume changes would involve shadow and knuckles and starfox costumes include falco and crystal but im not completely certain all i know is when sheiks there ill be there to put people in there place

It would have been wonderful if Nintendo put out the Brawl Demo they had rigged at "E for All" a couple of months back on the Wii Shop Channel!

I wouldn't mind a setback or delay if they released that demo for download (I would even pay for the demo too!) but I suppose it's just another month of waiting before Brawl comes out so long as there's no more delays.

With Devil May Cry 4 on the horizon and Mass Effect in my 360...I suppose I have my hands full gaming-wise until Brawl hits store shelves.

And although Shiek is confirmed and I know how "top tier" she is, many people that have played the demos during the "E for All" convention (and some are competitive Smash Brothers players) say that MetaKnight is going to be the character to beat. Then again, Zelda/Shiek wasn't in the demo but Fox certainly was so yeah, MetaKnight's going to be a force to be reckoned with come March 9th.

I'm still curious as to how the fatigue system will work with Pokemon Trainer. Hopefully you don't have to look for any phyiscal changes to the pokemon and you can just gauge their stamina with a small side bar (although I assume that might be a little too much to cram on the bottom screen so a panting Charizard might be what Nintendo will be aiming for).

The Sticker power-up was an interesting update. I suppose the Sub-space Emissary (story mode) mode will be difficult considering you can power-up your character...or perhaps its easy and the power-ups just allow someone to breeze through.

The costume changes seem like a definite possibility seeing as Wario can change from Warioware Wario and standard Wario. Nintendo did also state (according to my friend who works at GameTrailers and he had lunch with a developer for brawl...I'm jealous >.<!) they are trying to avoid "cookie-cutter" or "rehashed" characters such as C.Falcon/Ganondorf and Fox/Falco.

So yeah, it'd be awesome if Nintendo released a playable demo of Brawl on the Wii Shop Channel T^T!

I honestly hope the AI in Brawl will be much more challenging than the one in Melee. Lv. 9 cpu's were way to easy to beat. I hope this time around the cpu's will put up much more of a challenge x_x. I actually wanna do combos on the comp's and get a fight back.

To me, it's alright if it is delayed. Usually that means they are making the game better. I rather wait another month for improvements on the game rather than be disappointed with it when it's rushed.

I agree and no I don't think little link will be in here but it be interesting to see what he would look like cause let's face it in melee they messed up his face BAD!

I think it got confirmed that Marth is going to be in the game, still not too sure about Roy. I kinda doubt that Roy will still be playable.
