Hey folks, just wondering how many of yous are optimists and how many are pesamists?
So, you have a 500ml glass, with 250ml of water in it. Is this glass half full or half empty?
Lets hear it!

Thanks Nespa for this lovely sig!!!
I'm an optimist, nothing ever really turns out as bad as people say it will. For reals. ( I don't give a crap about the half full/half empty thing though.)
Eris, you need to put this in your sig to match the "quack quack"- Kawaii!!

A MaruDashi Creation
Half full and half empty at the same time.
Whom we Are:It is said that the cursedwere once seekers of truthand wisdom, blinded by powerand hate, who were then judged andsentenced to an eternity of life.Never to fully die, never tofully live and never to find tranquility.
it's actually both because it can be half full or half empty. either way it's still a half of something ^^

Yupp, these people are right. It is half empty and half full at the same time!
Its of half capacity.

I have to be the most pessimistic person ever.
I've been told so on several occasions.
In reality it's just that I'm a realist, and that I'm incapable of doing a lot of things that others are.

Incapable of what? Don't knock yourself down ^^
You'll never know your full potential until you try =) . All things are possible with effort....
Oh goodness, listen to me, I sound like I'm babbling nonsense >_>;
Um, anyways, the correct answer to the question is this: Cheese.
I see the glass as half there.
I'm mostly just normal.
That's the kind of optimism I hate the most. "Everything is possible." No.
I'm incapable in several places. Sometimes I'm pretty sure I can't think as well as the others, and I for sure don't have half the talent of others even when I practice.
The truth is in life, is that hard work doesn't always pay off. For me I haven't really seen it pay off quite yet. I've fallen on my face several times, or just been disappointed by the results. (though there was one really amazing thing that happened, it was only once.)
Even though I'm a pessimist, I still try hard to do things, though. I may talk like everything is pointless (and I actually do believe that.) but I still try hard just in case one day I'm maybe proved wrong.

half full
I understand. Sorry about that =(
Maybe this won't help, but I believe that it's not about how often you fall, it's how often you stand up. A Japanese proverb that stays with me all the time, even when all feels hopeless: "Fall seven times, stand up eight."
I know my optimism tends to annoy people. I'm not always like that though. We all have bad times at one point
It depends on what the person has with them when they see the glass.
If your down on your luck, and haven't had anything to drink all day, then it's half empty.
If you're prosperous, than it's only half full, and can be filled to meet its potential.
I agree with everyone. Its both.

The glass contains water and air, in roughly equal amounts.

Volume? You lucky bastard! We would count ourself lucky if we even had mass. My old dad used to say, "If you need a ruler to measure it, it's no bloody use for us poor people!" We used to live inside a damp rolled up newspaper, and work 65 hours of the day as a human footstool for a tablespoon of rust, and when we got home, our dad and our mother would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah.
Get off the lawn!
