Carlos Mencia: Joke Thief

Joe Rogan has done a lot of crazy stuff on TV and said some nasty comments when BJ Penn lost to Matt Hughes at last fall's UFC event. I mostly know the guy through his UFC commentating but I never knew he did comedy until I saw him as a replacement host on the Man Show a few years back.

I've seen this before and this had me laughing.

Anywho, I read about this on another forum I frequent a few days ago. I started off (unashamedly) liking "Carlos Mencia" (as he likes to think of himself) and defending him/his comedy, but now he's kind of lame. I'm not just hoping on the bashing bandwagon either - his jokes have gotten old. There not even his jokes, apparently.

Joe Rogan...been a while since I've heard about him. But this whole thing is funny.

I used to not like Joe Rogan until I saw this video. We're a lot a like after watching this one.

From what I herd, he's german and...Some kind of spanish that isn't mexican. His real name isn't even Carlos Mencia. It's Ned Arnel Mencia.

"Carlos" is the eBaums world of the comic industry. He has one original joke.

Carlos Mencia is an unfunny comedian in any case. And to clear up his nationality, he's half Honduran (on his dad's side) and half Mexcian (on his mom's side).

lol, I watched Joe call Carlos out on iambored.com......it was some pretty funny stuff. The creator of the video would bring up stuff that Joe accused him of, like the joke Ari made about the wall to keep out Mexicans. I knew he had been stealing jokes, but I didnt know that it was that many jokes

Joe Rogan is what carlos wishes he could crap out. He's a very funny comedian, and unlike SOME comedians, knows how to deal with hecklers (if you've seen that video). He's a funny guy, not the best, but funny.

As for carlos...or whatever we're calling him.

He's the latin dave chapelle, just nowhere near as funny. His Early standup (when no one gave a crap about him) was pretty good. Not the comedy central stuff, I mean the bootleg stuff from years ago. I theorize now that he's some high profile comic the pressure was on and that's probably when he started stealing material.

I've never thought he was funny. Almost all of the stand-up comedians they have on Comedy Central are way more talented than he could ever be.

If he does steal jokes, he should try stealing some better ones.

I take offense to that (well, not really) because they are nothing alike. Dave is funny. Dave has original jokes. Dave uses his real name, and while there seems to be a debate as to whether or not Mencia is mexican, we at least know Dave is black lol.

But really I have no clue how this guy even got a show. All the racist jokes were not considered a big deal because people assumed (by assumed I mean were lied to) he was mexican. Now if it comes out that he really isn't he can get a lot of heat for all of the racial jokes. Especially if hes German or something. Seems to be an unwritten rule that you can't make jokes about minorities and not get in trouble unless you actually ARE a minority. If not...your called a racist.

To give you a little background, when I first moved to Hollywood way back in 1994 Carlos and I were actually friends.
We hung out together a bunch of times. Played pool together, went to the gym, hung out at the store, all kinds of ****. That's also how I know that he's really half German and Half Honduran and not Mexican. I know it, because he told me himself.

Hypothetical situation: Person A Lies. Person B Puts in on Wikipedia. Does Person A still lie? That is the only real negative aspect of wikis. Even if it's referenced, it doesn't mean it’s necessarily true (Although, this really extends to everything, it is just a slightly bigger issue for wikis).

So, it boils down to a "He said, she said." Conceder this, though. His proclivity to steal the work of others is fairly obvious. Would it be any harder to lie about your parent’s nationality?
