I think it is suitable for kids, but then again I also think that violence and cursing is suitable for kids.

I really can't get into the humor, the art style, or just the show itself. Just I felt the cartoons I grew up watching and still watch had creativity which I felt Spongebob lacks.

I watch it, mostly because its the only things thats on tv.
Do I think its suitable for kids? Sure. Theres been children shows that've been more violent that Spongebob.
Though, they are moments where I think "are spongebob and patrick...together???"
But I got the same thing from Ren and Stimpy, which has more of that than spongebob, and it was still a childrens show.

As I undoubtedly wrote someplace earlier, I was taking a walk a while back when I saw a sponge lying in the streets. It had been run over by cars and was wet and miserable. That made me grin.

It makes little difference to me. You'll notice with most kids shows the target audiance is (get this...) KIDS! shock, right? However, many parents (hopefully) still watch and monitor what their kids watch. So the writers, for these parents, will often throw in a tidbit only the adults will get, even if it's really not funny. At all. But spongebob has its moments.

Compared to a show like Ren and Stimpy, or even a show like Rocko's Modern Life (which was my most favorite cartoon ever), Spongebob should be no problem. Spongebob is as lighthearted as a cartoon can get. Who cares if Squidward might be gay or if Spongebob and Patrick are together, or even how it's possible that Mr. Krabs' daughter is a whale and.. how all of that worked out.

It's supposed to be a wacky show. If you over analyze any show, you'll come up with ideas that are waaayyyy far from the truth.
