Hey this is targeted more for people who live in Michigan. If you know someone who lives in Michigan, relatives/friends, please have them sign this peitition. Send this to anyone in the state you may know.

This is a petition started by a friend of mine. Before the election Governor Granholm had initiated a recruit school for the Michigan State Police. Now she is putting a proposal to the Michigan State Legislature to eliminate the 2007 State Police Recuit School! Please goto this website, sign up, and send the information out to your friends!!! budget, the same stupid reasons for everything. Why she's raising taxes, and why she's instigating a services tax. Which will kill an already hurting economy.

I will never understand the budget cuts, or the proposals to eliminate anything to do with police and emergency services. As the population increase, so should those services. Anything to help train new recruits the correct way should always be looked upon as a good thing.

If they do not hold a recruit school then we will have less than 1000 state police for the entire state of Michigan. Thats the lowest since 1960....

She was elected because she's better than what she was running against. She's done a great job as Governor, I feel. (My views on this can't be changed, so don't even pop up some argument about it.) =|

I'm going to do my own research before signing anything. Simply "She's going to do this because of this" is not enough informationf or me to make a good decision.

I whole heartedly disagree that she was better than DeVos. Granholm has done NOTHING for Michigan to make it better, and infact has done a lot to make Michigan worse.

She promised a recruit school to win over the State Police, who were against voting for her at first. She basically bought them all with a false promise, the same false promise that she's been giving Michigan all along. Did you watch the state of the state? She said her plan will take ANOTHER 3 years. Thats sad. Michigan cannot hold out another 3 years like this. There won't be anything left. Pfizer just took out another 7000 jobs, closing 2 plants. We have the 49th worst economic climate in the US.

Now we'll have another 2&#37; services tax, which will apply to all services rendered people make money on, including realtors. Barely anyone made money in real estate, no one is buying, this will drive MORE people out of the business and there will be MORE unemployed people in Michigan. And ontop of that we will have less than 1000 state police. The lowest since the 60's.

So lots of unemployed people, unable to find jobs, and no police to protect them. Sounds like a great place to live. When I worked at Express the radio said that 45 people a minute were moving OUT of michigan on average. Drive around and count the homes for sale, most of those people arn't relocating within the state. There's a reason.

Granholm claims that she brought google in? no she didn't, that was Ann Arbor and U of M, she had nothign to do with it. Infact she LOST the Real World. They were looking to come to Royal Oak, the new condo's... she lost the deal. I had a friend working in the governor office at the time, who is a VERY staunch liberal. After all the mistakes she's made, and false promises this is the final straw.

You want to have the police force understaffed, thats rediculious. There is NO excuse for not running a recruit school. She found it in the budget before the election, but after, all of a sudden, there isn't? Dick DeVos wasn't even going to take any salary for running the Governor office. He wanted to turn Michigan around. Granholm won't even take a pay cut, but she'll gladly raise taxes and create new ones to tax the citizens of Michigan.

I love this state, but I wish it luck.... there's a rough road ahead.

I live in Battle Creek MI and all of my family is here. I'll gladly do this because I've seen my own area go down the drain once she became the governor. Personally, I'd like to see more police around here are as well. Places that used to make good money and so on are gone. Many people, including my own mother, aren't in exactly a good place. Most people are struggling a lot to even make it by every month. I usually don't admit this but I am one of those people. I live with a single mother who doesn't make much. She's gotten sick several times since Granholm became the governor, because she's worried if she'll even have a job the next day. That's a bit of my life and how she has made my life worse then it was before. Personally, I want to see her gone. That's only my opinion.

I will pass on the petition to all of my family and friends that I can.
