Anime's with very open endings.

What are some anime's that you felt the ending really was too open or did not really seem like a conclusion, as if it were just stopped before the story could be completed.

I know a few but number one on my list goes to Those Who Hunt Elves, it was a good series but the ending was so lame.

Edit: Oh, I take back what I said about Those Who Hunt Elves having the most open ending. My new number one by far goes to Gantz! Out of all the shows i've seen that has loose ends I think Gantz takes the prize easily.

Open endings huh?
I would say Full Metal Alchemist, but it was done that way to set up the movie so I'm not sure if that counts.

Another one that comes to mind is Trigun. Even though he won the fight and all I have never been a big fan of the whole, walk off into the sunset thing. His brother still seems to be evil. Whats he gonna do with him? Just carry him around for the rest of their lives?

Elfen Lied, has to be a perfect open ending. You wonder what happened to Lucy and you see theres someone at the door but it just ends without showing you who.

I thought that the anime that needed a better ending was Hellsing. The story seemed liek it was going somewhere and they had the potential for some great character development with Seras, but it really just fell apart at the end. I was most dissapointed.

Fruits Basket. Most of the characters didn't even show up like the horse and the rooster, Kureno and Rin.

Nothing was resolved in the anime and no new series has yet to be officially confirmed, so we're just stuck with the crappy ending of episode 167. The manga is kind of lagging right now, too.

Shaman King had a very open ending, but I like that it did.

here's my projection of the story

the story line goes up and up and up until somewhere where toboe dies, it wavers a little and struggles to stay up, but ends up taking a nosedive through hell and into china with all those useless deaths.

yup that kinda sums it up.

Before End of Evangelion came out, I definitely would say NGE had the most ambiguous ending. Of course, EoE didn't exactly help, but that's not the point.

I would have to agree about the fullmetal alchimest being very open, but now that I have seen the movie it makes a lot of sence.

Oh yeah...Gantz.That ending was so bad that I forgot all about it. God that sucked. Seriously...it was horrible. The manga is great though. Check that out because it keeps going. The changed the last mission a lot in the anime.

Another one I hated was Berserk.

It seems like most of the animes with sucky endings coincide with them ending the animes prior to when the mangas end. The story was not made to be brought to a conclusion so quickly so when they try to wrap it up they just confuse things.

endings really are a thing for me. i don't think i've seen an anime worth 100% closure on its ending. but i guess thats a predominat theme in the real world. Life goes on. there are no true endings. (Forgive me those who aren't in a philosophical mind right now.)
yeah. gantz wasn't open. it just sucked. eveyone dies. usually in a very embaressing way. but considering the theme of the show could you expect to get any satisfaction out of it.
in the realm for open endings. i would have to say Tejho Tenge. that was one that didn't quite finish. it was winding up certainly, but it wasn't there yet. i'v already said this in another Thread but.... THERE HAD BETTER BE A MOVIE!.
Elfien Lied is another one. there isn't enough there for a movie but it didn't end either... I take that back there is enough for a movie. in fact i think i'll script it now.
