anime ripoffs or changing for the audience?

i hate it when poeple make a complete ripoff anime of a manga. Like, the YuGiOh manga serires is exelent, but the anime is . what do you think?

Um...your confusing me. A lot of anime is taken from manga. I can honestly say that probably 90% (or more) of the anime I have seen is based on a manga. Bleach, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Gantz, Berserk, Tenjou Tenge and many, many others.

That being said, I have never read the Yugioh manga. I don't really like the anime (it's way too predictable & cliche) but I will take your word that the manga is better. Since these animes are licensed I am not too sure if you can really call it a rip off. You can argue that Digimon is a Pokemon rip off (or the other way around, I could care less cause they both suck) but Yugioh can't be a rip off of Yugioh.

However, the main point of the anime seems to be to boost interest in the card game. So in the case of Yugioh they may have changed things up to make the card game more appealing.

True, most anime is taken from manga, so they can't really be ripoffs (like Yu-Gi-Oh from Yu-Gi-Oh). However, if you mean anime series that are not as good as the manga, then I guess you could say One Piece. I mean, One Piece the anime isn't that bad, but it's just not as good as the manga.

I get what the threadstarter means. The YGO manga was good, but the anime was just catered to little children who had murderous fantasies XD
