The man, Bill Croizer sounds like he has an... interesting proposal. Frankly it's funny and sad at the same time. Funny because c'mon it's bulletproof textbooks and sad because of such a state of fear in schools that such a measure would be considered.

That is... interesting. Means that my World History book would do more than save me during a book check. The problem is, can you hold onto a textbook while a bullet hits it?

Nobody said it would be practical, but I wonder if said textbook being bulletproof would make it more damaging when you swung it on a punk's head?

A friend told me about this the other day, and I thought he was joking until I read that article. This really isn't a good idea. Sure, the bullet may not hit the student, but a piece of metal moving as several thousand feet per second packs a punch, which will transfer energy into the textbook, most likely causing the text book to slam into the student with a good amount of force.
