So have any of you started to think about what you want to get/give for Christmas presents?

If you don’t celebrate Christmas what do you do?

It is not almost christmas. The 22th of december is almost christmas. There are two quiet months until the utter assault on the mind we like to call christmas is unleashed upon us.

Aww, well atleast that's what I'd like to pretend. But in reality, there is already the x-mas music everywhere, overweight middle aged men with their red santa suits everywhere you turn that you just want to stab in the face, the tasteless decorations, the blinking lights.

Atleast there's the wonderfully grotesque Swedish tradition of celebrating Saint Lucy to look forward to (that's the one that ripped her eyes out and carried them about on a platter, though nobody seems to mention that.)

Haha we already had ours.

It's a month and half away but the army starts it early - silly week it's called, the week leading up to the holidays. We do jack all and drink coffee and sit around and talk to eachother.. then we have a big mess dinner where we get loaded and have food fights.

That, I am looking forward to. Just gotta make it through my month and birthday.

I'm also getting my father a brand new high end electric guitar - well me and my sister are going splits on one. What to get my mom .. who knows. Maybe some big nursing dealie.

Mom is buying me that Manga Studio thing advertised on TokyoPop (I don't know if you're as geeked out as i am, but i usually go there a lot.. x.x). I'm going to college next year to be a Storyboard Artist (Or just maybe an Art Director!! ;.; ) and i kind of wanted to come in with my own material and try to polish it a bit.. Other than that, probably nothing.. Though i really want this Zoo York board in CCS.. That might be my present to me this year.

I'd rather not think about that until we've moved past Thanksgiving here (US). For me, the day after Thanksgiving marks the beginning of Christmas shopping.
Though I admit to having a few presents already stashed away due to the fact when I see something I think would make a nice gift for someone I go ahead and get it so I have one less thing to worry about.

I'll looking forward to Hallowe'en at the moment, pizza and sleepovers! And having a reason for scaring little kiddies, how can you not be excited about that? Then Christmas rolls round where you apolgize to them by giving them presents, meaning you have to spend your hard earned cash, then January is piggy-bank hell.

Though it is exactly 2 months to my birthday now, but I'm not someone who counts down the days to my birthday until maybe a week before.

Knowing me i'd open the presents i bought for them from the frustration of not being able to take it anymore.. I could see myself just going back and forth looking at it, then in a plunge unwrapping and pretending like it's Christmas in October... >D

That's how I am. I hate when people start talking about thanksgiving before Halloween's over, and Christmas, before thanksgiving's over.

I think we should just move all holidays further apart, Have them every 4 months instead of every month in the last 4 months of the year.

Perhaps that's how it is in the US, but here in Swe-land there is no thanksgiving to hold x-mas back. There has been rediculous examples with x-mas ads in like july or august, but october - early november is usually when you start seeing the signs of the dark times ahead.

I get really frustrated when people put their home decorations up BANG on the 1st of December. Even then (IMO) its to early to start celebrating Christmas.
