Dude why would you want to make a topic about self-mutilation. It is a terrible thing to even think about. Look i am proud that you have not well cut for two days but really not the best topic to really talk about. It is really one of those personal goals you keep to yourself.

When you feel like cutting do something similiar but with less damaging results, like cutting a tomatoe or something. Besides if it's just stress related then there are plenty of more enjoyable things that you could do to your body that actually remove stress by their very nature. I'm not a cutter but I have had to quit somewhat less damaging habits before and I used this method.

Also you are more than likely going to be flamed so brace yourself and next time try dealing with this with some close friends or on a smaller forum. Posting stuff like this on a big forum is kinda like running out into heavy traffic.

Cutting cause the realease of endorphins in the body causing a sence of pleaseure. This is because when the body has pain the endorphins act as a low dose pain killer.

Now even though i do not like emo's lets not make fun of wrist cutting. It is the biggest problem and should not be made fun off. It is a serious problem and should be helped.

Try something less harmful...like whipping your wrist with a rubber band...don't ask, someone I knew told me the stingy sensation is the same feeling as...you know, when you cut yourself. <_< Just don't cut yourself! You don't seem like the kind of person who would do something like this...

my life right now is a liveing hell. i dont know how else to cope!! every body pressering me into doing stuff i dont wanna do saying i need to do this or need to do that calling me names and hitting me i cant take it!!! always being watched because i cant be trusted why cant they leave me alone!! what did i do wrong i dont understand!!! something is haunting me it wont leave me alone nightmares and flashbacks i cant handle this its the only way!!!

dude its not my freind that are pressuring me. its my parents and the police and other trusted adults.....i only have like 4 freind and they would never pressure into into doing crap..and its easy for you to say, you dont have to deal with the crap im going through i realy am trying not to cut iv gone two days three if you include tonight give me some credit for that at least.

Yelling at someone and commanding them about the issue is not going to do anything except exacerbate the problem. You can't just say "Don't do this!" and expect them to stop. That's probably why some people resist intervention - because instead of reassurance and sympathy, it seems more like an invasion of privacy.

How, exactly, are adults pressuring you? If you mean pressuring you by trying to get you not to cut yourself, that's because they don't want you to seriously damage or kill yourself. Self-mutilation is not a healthy coping mechanism. I know it's a cliche, but those people care about you.

Find some things that relax you. Relaxing music (you just got The White Album, right? Listen to songs like Sexy Sadie, Long Long Long, and Cry Baby Cry), meditation, listening to Bob Ross... something soothing and calming.

Also, try this... what's your favorite candy? Go out, and buy a bunch of that candy. Then, whenever you feel pressured or tormented, try eating a few pieces of candy - preferably while doing something else at the same time, like listening to music or playing video games or reading or something.

Think about the big coporate business man, who had a wife and 3 kids in school, and then his company went under, his wife left him and took the kids, they took his house and now he's homeless on the streets. If you have problems that are AS serious as you claim, you should NOT advertise these "serious problems" out on the internet. You should see a professional, such as a psychologist. And contrary to what YOU may think, they can help you as they're much smarter. unless you thought you'd find a certified psychologist on AF, in which case you're horribly misinformed. yeah i was waiting for someone to say that -.-;;; thnx masali...oh well its easy for you to say (havnt i said this before?) i have a counsler and all she says is that shes gonna give me some books to read i dont think its a big deal all i wanted from this thread was some suggestions on what to do instead i didnt want it to turn into this.....but to late i guess

Well, if it is the feeling of endorphins that vixen likes, may I suggest running? It is much healthier for you, you get the pain you apparently desire, and endorphins are the cause of what is known as the "runner's high".

I myself, though I once fell into a suicidal state, was never one for cutting. I didn't see any sense in that what so ever. But, hey, I pulled through on my own, and very few people actually know of it.

Find a time consuming hobby like running or another sport, try to learn something of your own accord, something you find interesting. Read books. Lurk AF. Confide in someone you know, who isn't necessarily a friend, but a neutral party who you can talk with. Better yet, exert some self control. You may have the desire to cut, but that doesn't mean you have to. When you feel like cutting, do something to distract you or ease the urge. Drawing, reading, bouncing a ball of the wall to improve hand-eye coordination, whatever it may be.

cutting keeps me from being suicidal....i guess i could try running around it sound like a good idea but, i dont think its the endorphins i crave its the pain and when no pain comes (it never does) i just cut deeper and deeper

Yeah it is. Because, as I've said before, My life is pretty crappy too. But, once again, I don't go galavanting around the interbutt advertising it. I hardly ever go into specifics, because my problems are not your problems. So do us all a favor, and don't make your insignificant problems our mild nuisances.
