Embers of a Son
By
James E. Andrews II
There was a time when I had faith,
When I believed that you where great,
You where all wise,
Stronger than every one,
A Titan,
I am older now, I know better.
You are not all wise,
Stronger than every one,
You are not a Titan.
You play with women’s feelings,
You break their harts,
You say you will be there for ever,
You say you will marry them,
I had faith that you grew up.
But no.
Before I knew it,
You made me in to the omega,
Made me in to your servant,
I did not see this till I was older,
By then it was too late,
I became a passive,
I would not fight you,
I would do as you said,
But,
What you don’t know, are the slow burning embers
Than live with in me.
The embers of a revolt,
Then the fires of hate,
Will blossom from the embers of the revolt,
that will be your undoing
By now I think, no
I KNOW I am a better man then you are,
Father.
