My dad's name in Rick and he does quite a few things. It doesn't matter what nationality he is and he's old enough to know better.

In the years previous to the birth of my brother and me, he was a musician (a drummer to be specific) and played in various bands for many years. He was known to all by a simple nickname: 'Grease'. This was due to the types of foods he ate. When he lived in a little apartment in Portland, Oregon, he'd wake up early in the morning to watch the sun rise out of his window before going back to bed and sleeping until well after noon. He used paper plates as dishes so he could burn them in the fire place for heat when he didn't have enough money to pay the bills.

These days, he works at a recording studio, remastering records. Basically, this means that he takes a record, plays it into his computer, looks at the sound wavs on his screen and manually extracts all the crackles and pops, burning it onto a CD when he's done. For those who think this is illegal, he doesn't sell the CDs; he sells the service. The only people who give him money are the people who brought him a record in the first place. His favorite passtimes are music, Fantasy Football and watching Jeopardy to answer before the contestants can (he failed the entrance exam by one question). He also enjoys looking at mountains and admiring them from a distance on a clear day.
