yeah ive lost my voice plenty of times. i had to do the white board thing too ick after awhile i just got used to it. lol if anything you learn to mime well

This topic is stupid. Everyday you do certain things, how many of those things are effected by you losing your voice? You can still talk to people and watch TV, and type on the internet. Losing your voice doesn't mean you're incapable of reading a book, or doing your homework.

Well there are many ways to lose your voice...
I lost mine for about 2 days...
I was trying to scare some kids on a carnival ride...
I was yelling at the top of my lungs the kids didn't hear me but my friend thought it was the funniest thing he'd ever seen...after I got off the ride my voice had gotten all cracky, hoarse and you could barely here it...the next day it was gone completely... it didn't stop me from enjoying the day though..
Advice? rest, it will do you some good.

It's never gone completely, though there's been a few times when I could only make a sort of squeaky, broken whispering sound. And when people can't even make that out, I became quite skilled in the arts of interpretive dance

I never lost my voice... But you can do many things you like... Try to forget about you dont have voice and have fun...

Chicken noodle soup + chocolate milkshakes.

Bite of one, sip the other. It's like pasteurizing your throat! Okay, not -really-, but it certainly helps every time I get a cold... which I do often... all my white blood cells are lazy, I'm convinced, off playing poker instead of doing their jobs.

Also you might try taking a decongestant (sudafed, something like that) because your sore throat is probably caused by drainage running down the back of your throat from your nose irritating your throat, making you lose your voice. (I bet you really wanted to know that, didn't you!) If you declog your nose you might feel a lot better, and might oddly make your throat feel better.
