Croc Hunter killed

just a little while ago it was put on the news that the croc hunter was killed by a sting ray. he got hit in the heart by its barb.
i'll try to find a news link on it, but its too sad.

i remember when i was younger 9-10 yrs i would watch animal planet all the time on tv especially his show and jeff corwin's too, i guess thats what they get for going into an animals territory but still its sad

What a way to die, eh? Considering what he did for a living, it's a bit surprising it didn't happen earlier...but I guess when you think of all he survived you'd expect him to live forever.

Man, that is just sad. I used to watch him all the time as a kid. Well, at least he died doing what he loved...I guess....

it is weird that he messes with soooo many animals, and something people dont worry bout to much kills him O_o

Well, it's not surprising it happened, like said before, it's surprising it didn't happen sooner. He will still be missed, I loved the guy, watching the show when I was little. At least he died doing something he loved, working with animals. Anything else would have been insulting. R.I.P. Steve.

Last time when he died in a tragic snake bite accident, it was all over the news in the US. But then it was a hoax. I really doubt he died this time, too.

There's several other more credible links that I've seen the story on, but last time it was on CNN.com and it was a hoax too.

it got confirmed. they got all the details now.
his wife who was in tasmania at the time was contacted not long ago and she's flying up to queensland soon, maby now.
its did hit his heart. that's like alot of bad luck their actualy

a daughter and a 3 year old son i think.
i bet his wife continues his charity work.
to save the wildlife here he actualy used his money to buy massive amounts of land so no-one else could chop it down or anything

It is twistedly ironic. Having wrestled with saltwater crocodiles and tangled with some of Australia's deadliest snakes. He dies from a stingray barb. Although hitting the chest would make it much much more deadly. I feel terribly sorry for his family.

Hubby told me about this. I've been fighting back tears. I love that man, epecially his passion for his work! For years I've wanted to go out to Queensland and visit his zoo in hopes of meeting him.

Wow...just wow. I'm still in shock.

people were putting flowers all around under signs of him at australia zoo. if there's gonna be any tribute things around melbourne i'll be going.
he was by far the coolest aussie ever.

on msn, me and many of my freinds on there are putting a turtle pic next to our names in tribute. (there was no croc msn one >_>, also not sure who started the tribute using the turtle, we just went along with it.)

My friend told me and it's sad. I though I remembered him but I don't know. I feel sorry for his family. And please please put a turtle on your msn name thingy because I did too and it's the only way to pay respect too.
