I'm thinking about trying it out, and with a pair o' specks I can look almost like Auron from FFX... I just need a haircut and a costume.

Perhaps the world was never meant to make perfect sense.
I have crosplayed as Sephiroth at Anime Expo, it was pretty cool. I plan to dress up again at the anime convention coming up.

in my opinion cosplaying makes people look like idiots.
Ive cosplayed a couple times before, and thought it was fun. i usually can't get out of winnipeg though,so i usually just cosplay at more minor conventions, like Ai-Kon.
Unfortunately, all my friends have me typecasted now, just because my costumes were always bulky and stupid (oh,and non-human.) now one of my friends wants me to dress up as Al in the full armor (FMA,obviously), several others are saying to dress up as pac-man,and my own mother is asking me to dress up as mechazawa from Cromartie high.(her excuse is that we can just put a garbage can over my head.)
I cosplay more than 8 anime/manga Characters, and Proud of it!

I've never tried it before but I wanna! I just need to learn to sew heehee
But my friend heidi is really really good at cosplay, she's like the bestest aeris ever. her website is www.cosplaykitten.com, she's SO lucky cuz she goes to alot of anime conventions and stuff!
I have cosplayed a few times.>>;;Once as Hinata, and the others will stay, unknown.[I am a guy.. Really. >O]
Urgh, there's only one major convention down here in NZ... And it's not even an anime-centric one!!! I'm seriously pissed coz I have to wait till October next year to cosplay! Meh, i'll probably go as someon from Inuyasha(Sango?) I'm already bugging my best friend to think of ideas.
Well theres a very good chance I'll be going to anime north this year, and the only person I still really want to be is Chun-Li. My best friends mom is a prefessional seamstress (sp?) so she can make me a costum easy, the only problem would be finding those wrist spikes....
I say if I look better then this gal I'll be ok, lol

My sis put on make up the other day and said "Hey, I'm L!"
Oh Lord... no, I don't cosplay. But if I must (like if my life depended on it), I'd go as someone not so normal but still human and has cool clothes, and NOT from Naruto, CCS or Final Fantasy.
I've seen Japanese cosplayers, they look cool ^^ But the local cosplayers... and those from *ahem* Western countries, rarely do I find any that even vaguely looks like the anime characters they cosplay... they usually make my eyes bleed.

This year I was a neko girl and then a school girl from junior high or something maybe next year I'll try something different ^^

I've cosplayed a couple times before and one costume won second place in one of the mini contests at A-kon.
Waha, I didn't see this before. You're right. Western Cosplay lacks, this is generally only because we don't have the resources that those in Japan do. In Japan, they are SOLD as cosplay, they HOST cosplay. We do not. We don't have that kind of stuff here and ordering it special costs a bundle. =\ It's really sad. I'd so love to have cosplay stores and stuff that didn't cost me an arm and leg to buy things.

I think this year, since I'm going to JAFAX, I'll go as Haruko, or I might go as some one from Trinity Blood, an ANBU black ops, or a female Alucard from Hellsing.

Yes, I do plan to as a matter of fact at Tekkoshocon V. (I LUV YOU TEKKO!!! e.e) When I went to Tekkoshocon 4, I was amazed at all the cosplayers and I said to myself , "Wow...I should do that sometime..."
