I'm thinking of having one but i'm not sure. I'm sick of my dorky glasses and i cant wear contacts. Has anyone here had one? Any personal thoughts about it?

Although I would prefer to keep my glasses, several of my friends and my mother have gotten the surgery. It works well from what I have seen(third person point of view). Though they do have to make an incision(sp?) into the eye, and then preform the surgery, you could probably have them give you something to put you to sleep, or some morphine, should you want to be awake when you have your eye opened.
After the surgery you have to keep your eyes shut for a day or two.

if its worth it to you i say full spead toward it it does cost alot though

well i wear glasses
if you get a laser eye surgery
you lose the ablity to see in the dark
and when you look at a street light at night time it hurts
x.x i just would rather wear glasses
Well I think that if you need laser eye surgery, you should do it. If it will help you out medically or if it will help your vision, I can't say I wouldn't want it either. But there is also the chance that you could be blinded for life, which would make anyone's hair curl.
But if it's something you really want, Archangel, then go for it.
archangel, keep with the glasses dude, laser eye surgery is 50/50, it will either succed and correct your eye sight or fail and send you blind, it aye worth the risk
I really doubt it has a 50/50 chance, I've never heard that from anyone, but I could be wrong.
Everyone I know says its great, you go in for about 5-10 minutes and come out being able to see just fine the minute the procedure is finished. I'll most likely get it done when I'm around 21, even though I hate the thought of someone taking a laser to my eye.

My dad got his eyes fixed and everything went well. There is nothing you should be scared of so go ahead and get Laser Eye Surgery. It's nothing you'll regreat.
I have that problem to! Until I decided to get surgery for it. If you are going to get it be very careful which doctor does it and his/her rep also you want to know all the other things like the hospital. Just becareful cause they can mess up your vision more
Many of my friends plan on getting it. But i have ound out that the result actually varies with each person. One of my friends got it. And her perscription got worse four years later. While another friend had laser eye surgery five years ago, and her eyes are still fine. It's up to you if you wanna get it or not. Hope you choose the right choice! ^^
Siggeh made by me. Taking requests ATM! =3
Keep the glasses...
Even if your lazer surgery is a success,
When you grow older, you WILL get blind...
Its a risk of a chance for that when you get older.
Or wear contacts..

A Corporal I know at work got it, has no regrets whatsoever. I for one can't wait until I save enough money to have it done. Contacts have been irritating the hell out of me lately.
my mom is getting laser eye sergery
Yes it is a very good thing If you do the surgery cause you don't need to wear glasses or contacts....but the COST you have to spend is the problem.....I suggest you only do the surgery IF you almost blind or blind....or IF your extermly rich then be my guest and do the surgery....^^;
I'd say go for it.. but there is always the chance of going completely blind....
Odds are about as good of an airplane crashing.

My aunt also had Laser Eye Surgery, and every thing went fine for her so no worries
I'd definately say don't do it. You may think you're making your eyesight better, but once you get older the surgery reverses and leaves you permanently blind.
It's an irreversable defect in the techinques. Lasers are not ment to be shot into one's pupils.
Ever have one of those laser pointers? They come with warnings that say not to point the laser at anyone's eyes. Well, the lasik technology and the technology in those little laser pointers are the same. The difference is the amount of power the laser uses, how long it's exposed, and where it's directed.
If you seriously want this done, then I can't stop you but know the consequences after you do this. It will damage your eyes in the future.
I say do it.My Mom had it done and she is loving it.Her eye sight is so much better.
Waste of money in my opinion. I like my glasses I think they make me look distinguished and really try to keep them on in public for vanity sake as much as my horrible eyesight.
Show your work.
8(2x+3x-15)+2=7+19
8(5x-15)+2=26
40x - 120 + 2 = 26
40x - 118 = 26
40x=I saw what you did with that thirteen year old.
A++
... Okay, Laser Eye Surgery may just damage the hell out of your eyes.. I'd just stick to contacts.. They are a bit difficult at first, and they do irritate your eyes sometimes.. I have a stigmatism, contacts are hard for me.. xD But they are surely better than getting surgery or glasses!

Untrue. There is not enough evidence to suggest that long term complications are common with Lasik surgery. I haven't found hardly any evidence saying that people go blind in old age, relating to lasik at all.Originally Posted by Sinnaku

There are many factors involved with Lasik surgery, but one of the most important things to realize is that it doesn't solve all issues. People often go in with unrealistic expectations, and complain when they don't come out with perfect vision. Nonetheless, the vision is improved the way it's described that it will be.

Oh yeah, laser eye surgery has revolutionized the medical world. It has truly changed the visual eye care world. But man it creeps me out how they do it you know. Taking off the top part of the eye to reveal the pupil and doing outher stuff. Oh man that creeps me out. Im glad i do not need it, but if i had glasses, uh no would not do it.
It's Your Choice, But I've Heard Of Many People Who've Succesfully Gotten It Done, And Loved It. Either Get The Surgery, Or Get Some Cool Glasses.

Everyone I know who's had laser eye correction has came out of surgery just fine.
I suggest you drop into your nearest clinic and ask about the precedure. Most places offer a consoltation, or at the least have information leaflets.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
