Favorite Anime Episode OF ALL TIME *possible spoilers*

Out of all anime series, which particular anime episode is your all-time fa, and why?
For me, I'm just beginning to widen my anime range, so for now I'll have to say FMA ep. 8 & 9. Those were probably the most depressing anime episodes I've ever seen. Besides the Naruto Gaara childhood episode, of course, "The Assassin in the Moonlight", I think it was?

My favorite episode is from macross episode 27, love drifts away. I have yet to see another show top it.

Correction, it was actually FMA episodes 7 & 8, "The Night of the Chimera's Cry" and "The Philosopher's Stone".

Dude that's kind of a hard one but probibly session 26 of Cowboy bebop. That anime' truly struck a nerve in me man. I love any anime' that has a theme of human fragility. but Bebop hit it the best.

i liked fma episodes 50 & 51 WARNING SPOILERS!!!!

even though they were really diffrent then the rest of the series i thought it was really funny especially when when ed got like smushed by the zephelin in ep.50 ^ ^ that was probably ed's stupidest moment ever (even though the other ed died) i mean even a person who never saw one before should know when a giant flaming fireball is coming down toward you, you should go in the opposite direction. And ep.51 was just really sad and depressing but it also gave u hope in a way too.

naruto when sauske and naruto fight on those big statues
and bleach when ichigo beats zaraki kempachi

Definately a great Macross episode that one. Probally the best of all the Macross series.

I have a few more favorites though in terms of episodes.
Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket episode 6: War in the Pocket.

Zeta Gundam episodes 49+50: Casualties of War + Riders in the Skies (great 2 part conclusion)

Revolutionary Girl Utena has 2 of my favorites.
Episode 21: Vermin (The Keiko episode, which shows a very minor character in a whole new light).
Episode 29: Azure Paler than the Sky (The penultimate Juri episode and conclusion of the Ruka 2 parter)
Legend of the Galactic Heroes has most of my favorites:
14- Fronteirs Liberation (A great side story involving a nobody character)
19+20 The Lipstadt Conspiracy + Yang Sends the Fleet (The twist filled commencement of the final arc of Season 1).
26 - Farewell, Distant Light (The season 1 finale: Two words 'Mein Friend')
41 - Ragnarok (The commencement of the Season 2 Finale, probally the best season of the series)
53 - A Sudden Change (The almighty Season 2 twist which changes everything in the series)
66 - Beneath the Flag of the Lion (The curtain raises on another great arc)
73 - Imperial Edict of the Winter Garden (

I think for me, it was episodes 25 & 26 of Cowboy Bebop-(The Real Folk Blues part 1 & 2.) Spike and Vicious's awesome fight scene..and the death of Spike..that's what made Cowboy Bebop a truly classic anime.

I'll second the Versailles nomination, with episode 36, namely for this scene:

 

Oscar says her goodbyes to Antoinette. While not blatantly stated, she is basically telling the queen that she knows what could happen to her, but will not be at her side for it. "Au revoir" are her parting words.
