it is so hot outside wher i live rite now and i usually go on a 3 hour walk but i decided not to today
2 days ago i went on a walk n it was the 1st offical hot day i guess n i didn't bring any water
it felt like i ran the mile!!!
my throat was so dry n i was coughing n my ribs ached in pain
hav you ever sucessfully RAN a WHOLE mile?
wuts it like wen u run a mile n hav u ever had anything unnormal or interesting happen to u?

I haven't ran a mile yet, but if I join the army I will need to run 1.5 miles during weeks 5-8 in basic training, and will need to do a 6 mile march in full combat gear during weeks 9-12. The 6 mile march sounds tough, but considering that I will have been doing a lot of PT and working out, I should be faster and fitter, meaning I'll be able to do it.

I'm pretty sure Sagat will be posting at some point telling you two it's not that bad.

JUST a mile? Anybody in the military must be able to run several miles. A single mile would be a walk in the park.

I run a mile everyday as a light excercise. It's not a big deal, unless I'm trying to break my record.

hahaha i dont see how you people complain about a mile....but being on track since 3rd grade does have advantages...running constatly isnt tiring at all, its when i get to 3 i will give up, and im talking about sprinting and keeping that pace not walking or jogging, running and sprinting...i run a mile in what 6-7 min since i quit track not to bad

Ah, hell. Walking a mile is nothing. I've walked five and a half miles through a Guatemaulian(sp?) rainforest to see some Mayan ruins. Running a mile is another story all together. I can run a mile, but I'll feel like crap after it. Which is bad, since I have to form my P.E. final.

I can run a mile. Actually, I can run 20 miles. Consecutively. The fasted mile I have ever run is 4:57. I held a 7:45 average pace for the twenty miles.

Honestly, a mile is not long. It is actually really short. It could hardly be called a distance race. It is simply a little over four laps on a 400 meter track. I consider it more of a speed race than an endurance race. I'm glad when I get to run the mile because it is so easy and short.

as for girls most of us arent in shape or the heat gets to us too fast...but being with depressed_angel has an effect on you, that girl made me run for track really, reason why i out run her now

you beat me in the mile run by 5 seconds thats it. i got what 6 min and 4 secs and you had to get 5 min and 58.9 lucky girl

Running a mile is easy. I ran one this morning. Even though I don't consider a mile to be very short, it definately isn't long at all. I'd rather run the mile than do "suicides" (aka, bunches of sprints) any day.

but in gym... NO!
I cant stand being told how to do something and how long it is supposed to take... it's hard, espesicially in the gyms at school, outside by myself, no problem.

I usually run three miles every day. It's gotten kinda hot and I've been lazy so I've only been running one mile lately. One mile really isn't that bad, I used to think it was horrible but now it's like a break really. I have it easy because I know my exact distance, there's a bridge a half mile away from my house that I run to and back when I'm lazy. Usually though I'll run this 1.5 mile long road by my house and back, that's pretty hard but mainly because I got lazy and didn't run for a few months. The first time you do it though you get a huge feeling of accomplishment and it's great no matter how tired you are, and you end up want to run more and more just to prove you can.

Yeah, back in middle school when I ran track, us distance runners had to run 1.3 miles every practice (2-4 a week).

At my school now, PE students have to run the mile once a week. Luckily enough, I got out of PE this semester because I had to make up some classes (or at least I thought it was lucky, until I found out I am gonna have to take PE for 2 more years).

Every once in a while, when I am not totally swamped with schoolwork, I will walk out to the park and run around the track, which is 2 miles. I used to do that every week, but I am so busy lately that I can't make time for it anymore.

I am usually really out of breath after I run the mile, but nothing to terrible has happened. I usually just rest up for 5 minutes and I am good to go.
