i do use cheat codes...but only if i've beaten the game first...unless its a GTA game...then i go crazy and put in cheat codes like no tomorrow just to cause utter chaos and laugh myself to a near-deathstate

Cheating? ha, There's no reason to cheat, if people are afraid to play a game the fair way if you take the easy way out. (I'm the best because i use cheats!,psh)

When I played Contra, I think I used cheats... but that was a long time ago. Last time I used cheats was on Pokemon, the infinite items thing. I only tried it once, and never again, because it corrupts the game (specifically, the Hall of Fame).

Sometimes i use cheat for when i'm really stuck on a game. Such as Breath Of Fire 3. I've herd of a cheat to get through the game cause the game deletes it'self when your near the desert area. Dunno if it works but i'm going to try not going all the way too 99 hours.

I have never once used cheats to get through a game. I HAVE, however, used walkthroughs which got me through the games I wanted to beat. To me, walkthroughs are almost like cheats so I stopped using them so I can actually beat the game on my own without any help, otherwise I'd become too dependant on them and never be able to beat a game on my own.

i always use cheats, maybe i'll play through it once or have a second file were i don't cheat, but i can't remember the last time i didn't use cheats or at least didn't look for some for a game.

I usually look up the cheat codes before I even get the game. Along with FAQ's and reviews they basically tell me what kind of fun I can have with the game. Codes = quick gags and easy fixes. Unlockables = longer play time.

Usually I play the game through at least once before I actually use any kind of cheats. If there is a part that I'm stuck on for a while I may resort to cheap tactics and the occasional invuln. cheat. The only exception where I would cheat going into a game is with an RPG. I just have to know ahead of time where all of the uber-stuff is so I don't pass it up. It's very frustrating to finally get to the end of a 100 hour gaming experience only to find out you dont get some special item because you were mean to the first npc who gave you the tutorial. Plus I don't have time in my life to play through each game multiple times to make every possible combination of choices looking for the right one.

Plus it's not really cheating...it's just winning creatively.

I figure there's different degrees of cheating; IE exploiting a bug isn't as bad as using a built-in cheat code, which is still not as bad as just hacking the game. I try to avoid cheating unless the game is particularly annoying me, but after beating/getting bored of it I tend to just go nuts with cheats to see what silly things I can do.

I hate it when people just cheat their way through a game they've never played before. Where's the fun in that?

To the contrary, I think just the opposite. Exploiting a bug in the code is worse, because the developers didn't intend for that to be useable.

Not everyone gets their jollies off of ultimate power. Many people really just like puzzles the way they were intended. Not missing out at all.

Good point, but I think it really depends on the severity of the bug. I mean something like using Missingno in Pokémon to have 255 Master Balls and a level 236 uber-Pokémon with 65000 HP, yeah, that's probably worse than sneaking through a wall to take a shortcut.

I'd say it depends how much easier it makes the game.

Nope! NEVER! ^.^ (I'm a little hyper today so don't get annoyed at me.) I often get stuck in video games though ... so maybe i should... XD just kidding, I don't like using them because I'm too full of pride to do that so I just savour the victory when I beat one and walk away saying I tried when I don't beat 'em ^.~ it's an okay atitude I guess, right?

besides. flying boats in vice city is more "ultimate stupid fun" ^^
or the flying tank in GTA 3 is fun aswell.
when ya game has been gone and done, cheats can keep it fun for much longer ^^
my fav might be the crazy people cheat in GTA: SA. basicly, everyone has weapons and is killing everyone else. nothing funnyer then playing that on 2 player and driving through a city with rocket's flying around and all kinds of chaos going on. ahh good times ^^

I use game cheats when were in the topic of Resident evil, I can;t handle it!! I think it's too scary.. I hate zombies!! I love to play the game but I'm to scared of dying so I use cheats :P......

i dont use cheats on Prience of Persia because it doesnt have any . And walkthroughs are hard to understand sometimes . I only use cheats after i finish the game . GTA : SA is fun with cheats no matter what
