Dubs vs Subs

Subs. Hands down. Original japanese VAs are more dramatic, funnier, and fit the mood better. For example, Naruto says "datte bayo" at the end of every sentence, which is cool. But everytime the *dubbed* Naruto says "believe it", I want to shove my fist through the television. Believe THAT.
And the *dubbed* Naruto completely slaughtered Kiba, Gaara and Shikamaru's voices!! Not to mention Edward Elric's from FMA. They suck.
But I have to say, Sasuke and Neji's dubbed voices aren't all that bad. And Alphonse Elric's is cute.
BUT DUBS ARE BETTER ANYWAY.

Depends on the anime. For instance, Bebop dubbed is awesome and Hellsing dubbed sucks.

Every anime I've seen is better dubbed. I've seen about 30 of them so far...

Subs are better for the overall experience, but some have pretty good dubs too.

I say subs, but only if it's worth it to hear the original voices, or if you understand them.
Japanese voices always seemed the same to me, and i couldn't understand a crap. I wish they'd have originally made them in a more comprehensible language. Really, any language at all! So untill i learn somethin in japanese, i'll go with DUBS.

well, i've made my statement. I just think english VAs are pretty bad (like InuYasha, Naruto, and Beyblade)
but you do have a point about the 'turning on the tv to read' thing. I prefer that, though

i agree subs are way better but the only dub im really hating is the naruto one

Yeah, but translations aren't always accurate enough to learn from. I prefer subbed anime because it's the original version. Thought there are some anime that I think have superior dubs or dubs that are just as good like Neon Genesis Evangelion, You're Under Arrest, Excel Saga and Puni Puni Poemi.

Okay, using the Naruto VAs to justify the statement "subs are better than dubs" is like taking candy from a retarded baby. I prefer dubs. And I will still agree the Naruto dubs sucks. Stop using that example and find something new. I prefer dubs because A: I don't know Japanese, B: Even if its the original traslation, that doesn't guarentee that it will make sense, and C: Japanese voices distract me from the experience. Yes, listening to the Japanese voices distracts me from the action. So does tearing my eyes from the action to read some text at the bottom of the screen.

Hmm could it be because YOU'RE WATCHING SHOWS THAT SUCK IN THE FIRST PLACE! Dubs for me, and it isn't like the japanese VA are better you just can't undertand them so you don't notice flaws in timing or anything else. But in a movie like versus (not anime) both the dub and sub suck. The "actors" are simply not good just like the movie.

And for the record I always watch dubs. I could care less how accurate it is, especially if the original dialog could have used punching up anyway. And reading subs is NOT a good way to learn japanese, actually taking a class on the matter or reading a book would be much more effective.
