The ASVAB!!!!!
But for this question, the ACT. Because there's more to it than just basic Math and English.
While I wish I could take the improved SAT with all that essay-writing, I would say from my experiences I preferred the ACT. I liked not feeling pressured to "OMG! OMG! Don't answer if you're not sure!!!1!" through it as I was for the SAT. And I found more variety. I had a terrible Geometry teacher, so I didn't learn it as I should have. When I took the SAT, I found the majority of it to be geometry. Upsetting, when your strength is algebra. However, the ACT wasn't heavy-handed in any one area, so I scored higher in the math statistically than I did on the SAT (boooo geometry).
lol I took the SAT I and SAT II. No one I knew took the ACT, so I'm not too sure how it is, but I'd take Reiako's advice. ^_^ On the SAT I, I got 1190, which is pretty good. I don't remember what I got on the SAT II, but I don't think it was as good a score. A friend the year under me had to take the newer version of SAT though, the one with the essay. I can ask her if you like.
Back, by popular demand! Now with new avy.
sure Capernicus. I'm getting a little advice...i'm thinking about taking the SAT or ACT this year. I think it's a good idea to take it as a sophmore. (i am a "sophie") anyway, my mom said to take the SAT cause it's easier...but I like challenging myself...sometimes. Also, I'm great at writing essays (according to my english teacher). However, I dislike writing with a passion, but I'm good at it...this is where the old saying "I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place" comes into the picture. Anyway, I'll look into them...I wonder if it's a good idea to check out some "helper" books on the SAT and ACT from last year????
ACT no questions asked

That math Arithmetic on the SAT killed me back then when I use to be new to college work.
Two years ago I went.. took a test alot like it.. scored 89 on it and a 96 on the word part.
I need to focus on passing test like this, but what I'm doing it might not matter much. Being smart is always nice though
If you don't score well on the SAT then its best if you take the ACT. It is easier because wrong answers don't count against you. This means that you can guess at answers dat you don't know and if your right you get a point and if your wrong nothing is counted off. So you have nothing to lose.
Belive in yourself and create your own destiny.Don't be a failure
Well...another thing to consider is what you'd be doing with it. If you have an idea of what university/college you want to apply to, take a look at their requirements. I doubt you'll find one that doesn't take SAT scores, but I did see some that wouldn't take ACT scores on their own.Originally Posted by Kina-Chan
Heck, if you can, take both.
SAT is more reasoning based. It's designed so you have to answer based mostly on reason. ACT is more on logic, and to me, is a little easier. I took both, and hell, they were both easy. =P
If you had to take one, take the SAT.
Acting - becuase it is a whole lot easier.
I took both...found out I didnt have to take them, but I did. I scored well enough to get into a good state college, but my intersts were in Art colleges, and most of them didnt require that I take them. I hated them both. Not because they were 'hard' or what have you, but because I payed for both of them. I dont prefer weither of them, since they were aroung the same price...what a waste of money....*grumbles*
