i think the psp is better couse it has evrey thing the ds does exept tuoch screen wich is not that good but ds has a lot of RPG games and psp has like metil gear solid

In terms of sales the DS is just whipping the psp up and down, every where except america. Where the DS is still winning but not by the gigantic margin it is everywhere else. The reason here is simple, americans will chose bling bling shiney of substance anyday of the week they suck like that but it's true. But the japanese also consider the cell phone to be the next great video game player, so it's a wash.

The DS is my handheld of choice, inovation certainly comes standard with this piece of hardware. It's a shame terrible american developers have no idea how to make anything aside from awful sports games and movie tie ins. I truly hate american gamers and developers. Look I'm not a japanophile but the games produced there are quite frankly better. Or at the very least more creative.

The DS is a lot better

1. Its a butt-load cheaper
2. It has games that other systems dont have, for instance Every game on the PSP you can play on the PS2, or even the X-Box. XD

Personally, I like the PSP. I know its more expensive. I know its not as innovative(how do you measure innovation anyways?). However it has something I like: Mulitfunctionality(7 point vocabulary word). The PSP is capable of playing good looking games, playing movies, storing MP3 files, and can display pictures. And on that last one you can download manga pages for free onto your PSP memory stick and read them without the book.

The DS is my choice:

-It has better games.
-It's a better buy.
-Better quality.
-And it's far more reliable hardware and capability wise than the PSP which breaks/malfunctions within a week of getting it.

Trust me I work in EB Games I know for sure that the DS is the better offer.

ugh dear lord, the DS hands down. The games are just more fun, and they incorperate the touch screen well in just about all of the games.The PSP is just another generic invention by sony to please people looking for expensive eye-candy.The sad part, most of the games suck. UMD movies are the worst idea ever. Movies are ment to be enjoyed with people. How the HELL do you watch a movie with multiple people on that thing?
I heard you can download music onto the PSP. If this is true, just spring the 50 dollars and get a cheap iPod or MP3 player.

well the PSP at 1st seemed very overpriced but now....theres internet 1 gig memory cards to hold in some anime so PSP is way better although a little more expensive its worth it

Yes but mine are always stupid typos, when you spell metal with an i that isn't a typo you think it has an i in it. In which case you lose.

The touch screen is one of the best innovations in gamming history, it opens up brand new ways to play that are in some ways far better than a standard set up. So yeah it does count for something, what does the psp bring to the table? Nice graphics, and a three hour battery life huzza!

I actually winced when I went into game stop to see that street fighetr alpha 3 was 40$ on the psp, and I walked about a dozen feet only to see it for 6 dollars for the regular psx. Way to go capcom lets charge 40$ for a game that plays worse on a handheld thanks to not having an arcade stick and adds NOTHING new. Uggghhh.

Actually it has about 5 hours if you save on light ^^, that is if you put it on the lowest possible setting. As for Street Fighter Alpha 3, I thought they added a D-Pad with the game, and they did change a bit of stuff in the game, they added some characters, and some weird gameplay modes, like 2v1 mode (Like Wth?).

My vote still goes to DS because it has games (Castlevania ^^), refer to stuff above. And I sold My Psp for a good 300$ (canadian dollars) with a 1 gig memory stick. You get quite tired of the Psp after a while.

I like the psp a lot. So much more stuff built into it except a damn hard drive. DAMN YOU FOR NOT PUTTING A STUPID HARD DRIVE!!!! but the DS, at first it was cool and then i got bored with it, but now it is making a come back with wireless play on the internet, and did you know that when metroid prime comes out there, you can talk to other players on the DS, now that's pretty cool.

i have a friend who bought one and he just sold it on ebay to get an ipod
so that speaks for itself
in my opinion the sp is really the best because i havent really had time with the ds
people who play handheld games dont want these bells and whistles for a high price whan most of it isnt put to good use
they just want games to play
i have another friend that bought a 512mb memstick and it broke so he returned it and got another, new one broke, and reapeat this one more time and thats the end of the reliability of parts

i dont hate the psp i just think it couldve been designed WAY better
i mean come on nintendo has struck gold with the folding system(no screen scratches!!! yay)

That was in the psx original, the game looks like a straight port but I could be wrong. The psp seems to get a metric ton of ports, way to damn many that's for sure.

So much more stuff built into it except a damn hard drive.

Now if only it had a good battery and games worth playing we would be all set.

Personally I hate GTA, I just don't find being a gangster fun. There's no getting around the fact that the psp library is hurting, it gets about a game a month were as the DS gets about 6 games a month and many of them are good.

If sony had opted for carts instead of those stupid UMDs memory really wouldn't be a problem.
