New to Anime, seeking advice

Hello all,

I am very new to the world of anime, and am looking for some advice on what to look for. I recently watched Appleseed (2005) and absolutely fell in love. I loved the story, the amazing graphics, the flow of the fight scenes and the way they approached military technology.

What I'm wanting to know is: For someone who really enjoyed Appleseed and appreciates the style used in this anime, what other anime movies/series would you recommend?

Like I said, I'm still an absolute anime newb, so I'm in major need of some education. Thanks in advance for your advice!

I would have to reccomend to you Blue Sub 06, Ghost In the Shell, Monster (kickass), and Blue Seed.

I say just go for diffrent animes like, Fullmetal Alchemist, Inuyasha, Ramna1/2 Ghost in the shell, and a whole lot of others. or you could read the magna in book stores

Some of my favs are Evangelion (must see), Ghost in the Shell (ditto), Wolf's Rain, Zaion, The Soul Taker, Noir, Hellsing, Chrno Crusade and Last Exile. I like a lot more but these are the only ones that come to my mind right now...

Blue Sub 06 was great. You should look into that one next. And while Evangelion is my favorite, it isn't the same style, and it's a horrible first anime. I recommend watching that only after you've seen a few others

Some of my favorites are Gundam series, Robotech the Macross series classics, Outlaw Star, Ghost in the Shell, and Fullmetal Alchemist

uhhhhh Inuyasha is good and so is ghost in the shell and Fullmetal Alchemist those r some good ones (or the ones i can think of)

if you watch ghost in the shell you will be amazed by the intro its great
