I guess someone really pays attention to what goes on in the chat.
I'll stand by my choice of the catchy songs of the Offspring, although if Greenday decided to go back to the ways of their Kerplunk album; I'm willing to switch sides.

I agree. Green day was alot better when they first started out.
They were better before but it's not like they totally suck now. As much as like The Offspring I have to go with Greenday.

not really they labeld them as hip-hop punk and a lil rock punk but not full on punk

The Offspring is a cool band, but I'll go with Greenday. I don't like how mainstream they've become, though. The radio/MTV tends to play their music to death now.
That is true and greenday is actually labled as alternitive rock.

Ive like greenday ever since they became "popular" I cant stand hyped up bands. I only like the older greenday songs so I would say off spring.

I personally prefer neither, but if I had to choose between the two, I would choose Greenday. I liked how they were, but not the Greenday now.

Then what are they?
They are either Alternative Rock ( Which includes punk.) , Pop-Punk or , plain punk, and it's not what the masses have labeled them.
If you want pure punk listen to an old 80's British Band, they are what is called modern-punk.
Too much air time.
It's just kind of the, "Your favorite music video on TV. Stations play it 20 times a day, and it starts to grate on your nerves", sort of thing. The music isn't bad... just overplayed. That can kill a song.
I like em both, mostly depends on mood, generally offspring tho
i liked green day's old stuff. their new stuff is crap. so, unless they go back to how they were, im sticking with offspring...

No doubt about it, i love The Offspring they have a kind of edge to their music.
Greenday's a pretty decent band too, but Offspring is more my style ^^
