I also think promises are made only to be broken, that's why I don't make promises to anyone.

It depends on who makes the promise. Example: If my Dad made a promise, I would probably not believe in it. If my grandmother made a promise, I would definately trust her. Different peoples' words are different.
My experience with promises is to never make them again with girls that i dont know very well. *sigh*
I think promises are only said for security. I think people can make it or break it. It really depends on what type of person says it.
I've been promised several things, out of those several things, I only gained maybe a quarter of it.
Promises should never be made unless you want to fulfill. Though it's understandable that it can't always be exactly go your way due to unexpected occurences.

Promises are made only for security. It's nice to hear, but don't look too much into it.
Promises....They don't exist. They are just a meer waste of breath....Same thing with "I love you"'s....They don't exist either.
We-ell... That depends... Promises are meant to be broken in some situations. Keyword: Some. Promises do not need to be broken out of selfish-ness, maybe out of necessity, but not because you didn't want to fufill it. Geez, that's just damn right idiotic if you break a promise that you knew you could keep.

yes love is in its own category promises are there just meer things to take look at you've heard people categorize in being a ASB president for a School "saying they'll keep promises" those promises are just something to be known for. i guess it depends upon people who make promises but those promises will be punctual? cause most will never follow threw from my experiences.

People make promises thinking positively, but there are some things that you can't control. Make things simple, don't rely on promises. Instead, let your yes be yes, and your no be no. No need to swear or promise on anything.

Promises can be kept by few. You can't say all promises are broken, or they do not exist. Example: "I promise to go check the mail." . If by chance, I did go check the mail, my promise would have been kept, and not broken.

it depends, sometime a very serious person promise me something, i would be happy but i know that at the end, he'd break it, well who knows, realli...no body knows. My ex promised me he'd make me happy, but wut?! he ended up cheating on me...so i would suggest, if you're not sure, dun promise...it realli hurt. Cos to me, "promise" is a big word.

aye when i make apromise its usauly always kept but ya i never make promises i cant keep its realy why ppl have lost trust in promises because after a while its just a euphamism to try and get what u want
