A chatroom problem?

Hello, Sorry if this wasn't supposed to be here, But I was wondering what I could do to fix this problem I have been having lately. I haven't been able to go into the chat. The little thing will light up for a minute and then give me the red X. I think I might have changed an internet option awhile ago and that might have created the problem? But I'm not sure. Again i'm sorry if this thread wasn't supposed to go here.

apparently there are '-3' users in the chat. Also, no rooms came up on the java applet, and I'm not able to create a new one.

someone tell me something is messed here.

It's doing it to a lot of people. What has to happen is the chat needs to be reset.

I've contacted the people who can do this, and now I'm just waiting for one of them to actually be able to do it.

Short of actually yelling at them on the phone, I've done what I can =P <3

Your comp isn't starting the java applet. Try reinstalling Java.

I'm firewalled on this comp of mine and the chat room won't load (gives me the red X business)

and I updated java and stuff yesterday.

know any ways to try and get java to work through this firewall of mine?

It's not likely that it will unless you make the site a trusted site, Very unlikely you'll get it to work from behind the firewall.

hm..... o_O well I don't like making sites trusted ..... last time I did I got my pc nailed by bugs but erm.... anyway that's unrelated.

I'll look into it. I'll edit this or post fresh if I still can't get it working.

maybe its the way your java applet was installed. you need to check which java applet was installed

Mac. Remove your current Java. Retart the computer. Download and install the new Java. Restart without launching anyjava applets.

My Java installs would be listed below. (It works good.)

- J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 1
- Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_05
- Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.5.0
- Java 2 SDK, SE v1.5.0


Also, you might want to edit your Java settings to work along with the firewall. If you're using WinXP, you shouldn't have any troubles with the firewall, since MS' firewall is just too bad. If you're behind another firewall, you might want to open the port for the chat, unless it's already open. If that is so, change the settings of your firewall. If you are unable to do that, just ignore the chat. Nothing ever happens there anyway. Just a lot of rulebreaking. XD

dumbly, I don't know how to remove my java to get rid of it.

also, the firewall I have, Kerio, ran its trial over yesterday so I'm trying to rely on Windows Firewall to not screw me. Until dad hacks the registration code XD... or buys it. either way.

I think my java prob might have been due to the fact I installed half the java, left it for a month, then installed the rest last night. lol. anyway 'how to remove and reinstall java'. got me boggled. ><

All you need to do is download the J2SDK from java.sun.com and install it. It will install the ENTIRE java bit.

also a random question .... how many moderators are there on this site? and why, when I come on for the one / two hours every night, is there only ever one or two on? ....

Nope, wait your time and you'll be allowed back in. The bots don't ban for no reason really.

Though if you believe you have a valid complaint provide us with a time and date as well as which bot banned you and we'll look into it.

There is a moderator for each forum on this board. Also, there might be some chat admins, though they wouldn't be listed as moderators. Only chat admin.
Some moderators tried to stay online as much as possible, such as I, but I don't look in this forum too often.

I've seen the bots ban for no reason. They're sensitive on caps.

There are two forum and Chat admins :: EJK(Jakaio now... or something like that) and myself
There are 6 ACTIVE Chat Admins and Jr. Admins :: Tiv, Wizzard, Millions of Knives, Miu Miu, Member Name, Ithuriel
And all the Moderators are active, so one per each forum, go with that.

Err if I forgot someone it's cuz I really rarely see you.... <3

A Note, I'm always around but I stay on Privacy, as well as most mods and admins, we don't exactly stay on visible because when we are people PM us consistantly about things like "y u ban me!#@$!!!@#@@@" And that's pointless... I love PMs just not those... so invis is better for me <3
