One thig that this forum could do with, would be to insert a shout box. It is rare to see them on forums anymore, but they are really useful in letting people know smaller details that can't say over posting. e.g. "I have to go now, i'll see you on monday"
I can appreciate that it is a fairly large module, and would require extra moderation. Perhaps it would be difficult to find the module for it.
They are useful, and it may be worth looking into it?

If a person wanted to let someone know that they are going to leave for the weekend, they would do it over a PM. A shoutbox is nothing more than a single post with constant and never-ending posts that stick to no particular topic. We have the chat room for that o_O;

I personally feel that there is no need for a shoutbox. This is a forum, post for a large audience to see or PM for a small audience to see.
