I never did like Warcraft, i am a Starcraft Vet though but havn't played online for such a long time. But Warcraft was so alien to me when i first tried it, exactly the same as Starcraft but with different races, units, upgrades etc.. And i never did get the hang of that, so i jsut didn't bother. I don't play on either of them anymore and will stick to Dawn of War - my new replacement RTS game for all other RTS's i play xD

Your a Dawn of War player then!? What really bugs me about Dawn of War though is that you can't play as Tyranids, Tau, Daemonhunters, Inquisition, or even the Necrons. I woud just love to see a Necron Monolith float around the battlefield and just to see it's Guass Flux Arc cannons in action, it would break the unit coherency so easily xD; Plus the Necron Lord with Warcythe and Parhiahs would tare appart all infintry. Not as well as the Tyranids though... can anyone say, Tyranid Carnifex!!!

Well i don't play online in most games, i play mostly in a place called PC Arena here, it's a local LAN gaming community, i like LAN games better =P

Yeah, in net games, Lag is your worst enemy, not your opponent.

What also annoyed me about that game was the crappy single player component, as you can only play as space marines. I dont even like them. To tell you the truth, i cant be bothered using any other race besides the eldar. Just like in war3, i cant be bothered using any other race besides the humans.

Sadly, im always patriotic to the races with unknown strengths. The humans in war3 were definately disadvantaged. Thats why in all the recent war3 patches, the changes would add more benfits to humans and take away from the other races. But it was too late already, i lost interest. Im pretty sure DoW isnt like that, as i find the Eldars to be pretty damn good if used properly.^^

But the overdone voice acting is annoying!! Especially the Chaos!!!

Hey, i like using the Chaos, there my race of choice in the game, i don't know the Eldar fully to use them effectivly, sure i can use them, they have amazing defences and the cloak for there base. Avatar is also good to have to reinforce all your structures and the Seers Council is deadly, about 14 in one unit and they can destroy vehicles with ease it's scary!

What the Eldar don't have is the "Deep Strike" ability, cause i would just send usualy the Bloodthirster over a mountain round the back of their base whilst about 3-6 Chaos Predators with all upgrades through the front, once Bloodthirster has cleared the fog of war then Deep Stike the Obliterors each to there max unit number, that's about 20 of the badest, heaviest infintry to support my good ol' greater daemon. That cause them some confusion, they can hold there perimiter aginst the Predators or fall back to base and try to stop my other attack, but by falling back you make way for the Predators to come through and reinforce the suprise attack!!

That only usually works though when people don't rush me, i hate rushers!!

Pft, tell me about it. It takes ages for me to get started. But you cant prevent the rushing when you play against the ai.

Though, if you want to confuse the eldar by striking in all different positions then you would be surprised by how well they could handle it. I mean first of all, i wouldnt expand my base to a point where there are over 2 entries to it. In both entries, i would have at least 2 webway gates. 1 for regeneration for nearby troops, 1 to cloak all surrounding towers and structures. So if someone were to distract me at one side, i would send all my men through the webway to investigate, then if the other side is attacked, i could teleport them straight to there in no time via webway.

I found that the eldars worst enemy is morale. They lose it so quickly. Which makes their already weak men become worse. But if they have the avatar, then morale is no more of an issue.

The next race i was planning to try is the chaos. You really have to know your enemy i guess. I really dont want to use those damn orks and their 'raarghh!!!'

One thing with the Chaos, the Defilers suck so much, sure they got long range and impressive clombat skill but they're just plain crap. Every time i use them my unit would get wipped out so easily by a bunch of other vehicles. But the Space Marines are lucky, there Land Raider come equiped with those Las-Cannons, whilst for the Chaos you have to upgrade which costs you energy and time! A thing i do like about Eldar i must say is the Burst Cannons, i find them a very good defence, i havn't quite tried with all the teleportation stuff though, i too was considering changing race of choice to Eldar myself, just need some more practice with them!

Agreed, Protoss are my fav race also, thee most resilient race of the lot with excelent balanace, i've said all this before, so just refer back to the other thread for Starcraft stuff and crap..

Nah, i just stick to the game. Warhammer isnt that big in Australia, and people will cast you away from them if you told them that you like warhammer.

I heard that the eldar are the hardest race to use. But if you plan to use the Eldar, watch out for their best vehicle, the "Fire Prism". Its so uncoordinated at times and cant stop moving around during battle, and when i say 'around', i mean around the entire damn map sometimes.

LOL, yeah, then we can look at all the perdy pictures xD but i know the Fire Prism, i have one in real life, a friend just have me his Eldar army which is cool. You know that airship thing the space marines have that drop there vehicles off, well there are only about 500 of them ever made, and costing about £400, which would be about £650us (estimate), talk about rare and expensive, when one of my friends said he was gonna buy one of them i just started laughing! -LOL-

Yeah, that airship thing is pretty intimidating in the game. But even more scarier in real life at that price. Now what war3 lacks is adjustable ingame camera, let me show everyone what i mean.



...as you can see, usually the enemy would believe that my men are just floating around the front of my base. But little do they know, i have about 8 cloaked turrets and 1 war shrine waiting for them!! hahaha!!!!! .....too bad guardian squads suck.
