I hate you all."I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I pretend to be."I scare people.
Crhonicles of riddick has great graphics but the game was preety much ignored due to lack of publicity.
hmm.....here are a few that i like....
Metroid Prime II
Tales of Symphonia (i like the animation style)
Star Wars - Jedi Knight II
Dawn of War
Note - I did not make this....i found it on the internet.....props to whoever did make it though....
THANK YOU! half-life 2 has the best graphics out there.Originally Posted by Lord of Nightmares
Nah, i still reckon HL2 is the second best. Doom3 is the best....not many PC's out there can hack this game on its full graphical settings.
DOOM 3:
...those were taken on "high quality" settings, my PC cant hack "Ultra High" very well.
HALF-LIFE 2:
These were taken on max settings except for Anti-Aliasing which doesnt affect texture details and lighting anyway, and also anistrophic filtering wasnt maxed.
Half-Life 2 portrays the real world we know today very well, but doom 3 is portraying something we know nothing of, so obviously in HL2 one must feel like they are walking around the real world sometimes, and would hardly get that feeling with D3. Im just making a visual comparison, i dont know much between the technicallity of the 2, except that doom3 takes pride in its realistic moving shadow effects, you can even enable "self-projecting" shadows in doom3, that is when a model produces a shadow that effects itself (eg. a zombie moves his right arm and casts a shadow on his left arm)...i dont think any game has this feature, but maybe Deus Ex: Invisible War. Anyway, too much talk already.
I guess in the end its all opinion based, i just felt that this thread needed to get technical and some screenies
Yes, that was a motive of heavy criticism by some criticsOriginally Posted by !.Aifa
i would have to say that halo2 doesnt have the best graphics but it does have the best replaytime, reaction time, backgrounds, monsters(enemys). and so on and so forth

Dude, it has all that because it has amazing graphics. I mean, would a brute look very scary at pixels??? I don't think soOriginally Posted by full metal alchemist
i have to say ff x-2 and halo 2 had the best graphics
Half Life 2 was spectacular, but my choice would have to be between FFX and Resident Evil 4. FFX came out in the middle of 2001, I believe, and it was spectacular. It's amazing graphics compete with the games that have been made four years later, with much better tools. The design and art direction is amazing, and lovely.
Resident Evil 4 though puts you in the game and it feels so realistic. It also scares the crap out of you, something that has come to be expected of all Resident Evil games. But personally, I love FFX. Beautiful in everyway.
A lot of console games! I reckon people should be skeptical when:
1) Its a console game. Since you will likely play it through your tv, and graphics on the tv tend to look a bit better compared to a PC monitor since TVs have the "monochrome" effect. Not to mention that you would sit quite far from a tv so you wouldnt notice graphical flaws.
2) Free camera movement isnt allowed. Such as the ff games. Not allowing the camera to look at certain spots would allow hiding of graphically flawed areas, not to mention hiding the flaw of "sprites" as they lose their effects when they impact on an object.
...im getting too technical again, ill just stop it there. ><
To be blunt in what im saying, in gameplay: FF games can paint a great picture, but games like HL2 and D3 can create a cinematic experience.
...ok, enough talk from me.^^
That's how the graphics of all FF are so amazing and i think it's great. I'm one of those guys that just hates exploring.
The graphics in Gran Turismo 4 are the best by far!
star ocean 3 has the best for me

I agree with Aifa Taikaro. HL2 i reckon has the best graphics. It shows small minor details which makes the game really kool. I've seen D3 at mac graphics it is also good but i prefer HL2.
Im glad someone agreed to what i was saying. Hopefully we can get more opinions for Half-Life 2 or Doom 3 to knock some common sense into this thread.
I forgot to answer this. Yes, you can have slowdowns, but any true PC gamer knows how to eliminate all chances of that occuring. Such as not having 10 different programs running in the background while you try to play a game that you think your PC can handle. I could go on forever, but in the end, PC gamers enjoy the best in-game graphics that console gamers cant touch. CG movies are a different story.Originally Posted by Fantasy fighter

Now all of your ppl who are saying that consoles dont have slowdowns are wrong. I've seen slowdowns with Morrow wind, Soul Calibur 2 and many other games. These things you dont see often but it does happen. And as for what Aifa Taikaro sed before it is true. Ppl who love their games and who are comp wizzards they know what to do to stop the game from slowdowns. And yes on comp ppl can fiddle around with their graphics of the game and the features that the graphics card has itself unlike the console you do not have those freedoms of calibrating the graphics.
It would be between Halo 2 and Resident Evil 4, cuz those games look so real. The designers took lots of time into making it the most realistic experience you'll have gaming, and they managed to make good graphics and not have the story or game suffer cuz of it, so hats off to you guys. But for its time, the FF games for PS1 weren't too bad at all.
Its supposed to be a challenge thats why its called a shortcut, if it were easy it would just be the way.
