Well, you should say something about the pendant to your friend. Then he will see his girlfriend for what she truly is. I think you should do that before you're friend finds out about it the wrong way.....

hey dude, im not sure if your aware of this but....a girl giving YOU jewelry and no less, now stay with me here....in the shape of a heart, is very VERY weird. My advice is pawn that ish and keep away from here, theres something messed up in her head.

Following my traditions of a sarcastic answer followed by my real advice, so I seem both funny and insightful, I must actually answer the question.
It seems like everyone is saying that it isn't right for a girl to give you a heart-shaped pendant, at which I must say you are all blowing this way out of proportion. It's a present from a friend, regardless of who that friend is. If another friend was to give you a present, you wouldn't think twice about it, but just because she is a girl who happens to be in a relationship, everyone is screaming like the world is going to end. Take the gift, thank her, and be done with it. So long as you don't go parading the pendant under your friend's face, he has nothing to be jealous about. If your friend starts giving you grief, it just shows how immature he is.
I have to agree with Suzaku. Everyone is just assuming the girl wants you like a bf. That could be the fartherest thing from her mind. Friends do nice things for each other, and friends buy things for each other in small tokens of thanks.
Sorry if you guys don't have good friends....
