the main reason i like gothic music is because it will talk/sing about stuff in life that most people try and avoid. but those things are a part of life and people cant except that, so gothic music isn't as popular as those other styles where they talk about whatever people want to hear.

so TheWickedOne, since you own a lot of gothic music can you recomend somthing that will make my parents think im part of some kind of cult? (i like to make them worry, its one of the few things that keeps entertained)

no gothic for me... its to depressing... i love life and life loves me right bak... gothic is all about death and killing and destruction and ihate that sort of thing... i do like rock, especially old rock like queen or linkin park... i heard a gothic sond the other day that had me cofused coz it wasnt about death or killing... it was about political crap and i dont think it was very populr for that reason... obvously it must be about death... im feeling sad ust taking about it... *sigh* i need to be happy to live or life is just not worth living... is that why goths are suicidle? i think that band my friend listens to is gothic, ramthingy?

A lot of AFI's songs are depressing. I just put in Sacrifice Theory 'cuz it sounded pretty gothic to me. Download it and listen to it sometime.

When I listen to gothic music (which doesn't happen very often), I have a tendency to burst in laughters (no offense). Especially when hearing things Nightwish's "End of All Hope" or "Forever Yours". But the singer has a wonderful voice.

i think gothic music has been around long before Marilyn Manson, but he did make it well known all over, opening the way for other gothic bands helping them to be noticed.

In Britain we don't really have gothic music.. Well, the bands that you guys call gothic, we just call Rock or Alternative usually.. Even though I come from the most Gothic country in the world.. Heh... Go figure...

I'de say alot of the bands mentioned here are more emo than Gothic..
