to be honest i totally love gothic music. btw alot of the time i am depressed so this helps me ease into my normal mood. Gothic rock is basically what i listen to.

I have a friend who used to listen to all Gothic, all the time. I got her into Radiohead, though, and now she's kind of inching away from that.
I used to like Sisters of Mercy, but not so much anymore.
I love Christian Death.
One Gothic band I hate is Siouxsie and the Banshees, but I don't know if they're exactly Goth.

Listening to one bad song or one entire bad band doesn't mean you should quit trying. But still - I wouldn't go too far beyond the goth extreme. I only listen to a few - but I don't keep em forever. Still, there are a few good ones, I have to admit. lol

Here's some bands that actually play goth: Bauhaus, Christian Death, Specimen, Sex Gang Children, UK Decay, Dead Can Dance, Sisters of Mercy, Fields Of The Nephilim, Rosetta Stone, London After Midnight, Suspiria, Black Tape For A Blue Girl, Sopor Aeternus, Diary Of Dreams and The Cruxshadows.

As for Sioxsie... they are "almost", since "goth" is just a darker form of punk to begin with; if you want to get all techincal about it.

By the way, Manson is the Fred Durst of Heavy Metal/DeathMetal/Glitterish. He only made people THINK that what he does is "gothic" and how everyone who is another type of goth behaves.

Green Day is pure punk/alternate. Recently they are trying WAY to hard to come off as either Heavy Metal or goth.

Example: December/January (One of those..) SPIN Issue. They are wearing the normal "gothic" trends; which sadly don't work for alot of people and they appear rather homosexual wearing it. Not that I am implying anything.

If Green Day goes goth, that's it; I'll start listening to country.
