In season 1 of My Happy Marriage, Miyo, the hated older daughter, is to be married off to Lord Kudou. Actually, this is a lucky break for Miyo as Kudou proves to be a loving, caring fiancé. For more details: https://www.animeforum.com/showthrea...Marraige-(2023)
So now we get season 2. Miyo’s late blooming supernatural powers are starting to emerge. She and Lord Kuduo are not yet married, which makes the title of the series a bit misleading. But they are living together under the same roof, although with separate sleeping arrangements. They have yet to consummate their relationship.
So everything is set up for season 2 – when it totally derails. There is a certain member of Miyo’s family who is after Miyo and the kingdom’s psychic forces. People are being turned into demons. Why is this all happening? Because there was not enough action in season 1. This new plotline is pointless. Without a definite goal in mind for the villain, My Happy Marriage turns into just another action anime about the supernatural with an all too familiar plot device.
I caught early on that the series was in trouble. But I persevered until the half way point. Now I have given up on the series. I like season 1, but season 2 of My Happy Marriage is lacking.
